Very friendly and helpful staff, room very clean, quiet and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely queen bed, clean, hot powerful shower, large room with tv, fabulous cooked breakfast included in very reasonable room price. Excellent food menu and large portions at fair prices. We will stay again when visiting Durham.  We tried to go back for sunday lunch after our checkout but the car park was completely full reflecting how popular the three horseshoes is. A very enjoyable 2 night stay and there was a lot more on the menu we would have liked to have tried. Next time!

I use The Three Horseshoes ever time I am in the North East on business.  Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms and lovely food.  The restaurant can get busy which is testament to the quality of the food and beer.

Not fancy but great food, comfortable beds and very reasonable prices.

Stayed 1 night and ate evening meal here.Postive points: -- Helpful and friendly staff- Good shower- Bed on the firm side but not uncomfortable- Evening meal was very good; we ate beef and ale pie (homemade and tasty) and seafood linguine (tasty with good quantity of shellfish). Both dishes were a good size.- Breakfast: cooked fresh, good sausage. Cereals available.Less positive points (but not 'bad'): -- the room radiator was not working correctly but the manager quickly sorted it out- breakfast range of youghurts and fresher options was quite limited; coffee was from a machine and a bit of the weak side.

Excellent welcome, lovely views, outstanding breakfast choice, portion, quality. Highly recommended.

Absolutely gorgeous place to stay on the outskirts of Durham. Only a 10 mins drive into the center! The parking is so easy & accessible, great dining options and the staff were SO lovely! The rooms are modern & clean, will definitely be coming here again as it's a great value for money and I absolutely loved staying here!

Used hotel as a stop off on way to Cambs. Perfect! Food was amazing, we had dinner & breakfast. Friendly staff nice feel about hotel. Had a front room, spacious & comfortable. A little road noise.

Fabulous accomodation, service and food

Helpful staff, good hotel, great evening meal

Popped in last night for a drink after a long drive up from the south and noticed the car park very busy.  Staff were excellent,  friendly and attentive (but not overly). After a long day site seeing in Durham today on our return to our campsite, again car park busy (a great sign for any establishment considering its mid week). So.. we decided to take in a meal. Staff, again, superb, meal, excellent and atmosphere brilliant.  I asked the Head Waiter to pass on our sincere thanks to both Front and back of house Staff, I Hooe he did. Paid our very reasonable bill and left to get this highly recommended note written.

Staff, Food, atmosphere- excellent 

Absolutely fantastic, lovely room, toiletries provided and plenty tea/coffee/hot chocolate. Bar staff offer fantastic service - bringing drinks to the tables outside. Lovely views over countryside from verandha with glass panels to shelter any wind. Breakfasts, huge portions, top quality and excellent choices. Very good menu, food served all day, good value. Excellent location for Kynren production. Only issue restaurant not hoovered until after breakfast so floor had crumbs of food under and around table from evening before.

Fantastic

Excellent,  booked for one night, and had dinner. Great steak and kidney pudding and salmon and prawns in puff pastry.  Was around 35 GBP, Staff absolutely fantastic nothing too difficult. Outside of Durham about 4 miles, beautiful views and several rooms to  choose from for dining. Breakfast included, starting with choices for cereal and juice. Cooked breakfast also included with several choices.

Excellent food and staff

This is an isolated pub on a busy road, with great views of the countryside. The bedrooms have been recently modernised and decorated. Bedroom was large enough and rthe bed comfortable if a little firm. Large en suite with walk-in shower was well decorated, though the rainfall shower could do with more water pressure.The staff were very friendly and the evening meal was excellent with very large portions. Buffet breakfast was OK, the sourdough toast being the highlight.Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent countryside pub

Staff were fantastic throughout our stay and food was really good too, especially the breakfast! The room was clean and spacious but had a very creaky floor which although a little annoying you would expect from an older building. Great place to visit Durham and other areas of the North East. Overall we had a great 3 night stay and it was good value for the cost. We would definitely recommend it and stay again.

Stumbled across this place when looking for a stop over after visiting our son get married in Scotland.. all staff are very friendly… special mention to Owen who greeted us… food was absolutely amazing.. excellent choice and portion size and good value.. fab location for Durham and surrounding areas… would def revisit if coming up this way again… fab stay

What a fantastic stay. We took three rooms as a family. Possibly the cleanest and most comfortable stay we have had in Durham.  Cosy and with a restaurant below, it was remarkably quiet upstairs even with Christmas celebrations. Each room had its own shower and toilet. One room had a shower and a tub. Ample plug points for charging devices.  The bed and pillows were superb. It really was a perfect stay. Thank you
