We had a really lovely wknd stay, the location was perfect with just a five minute walk into town, the breakfast was  superb with juice  toast, cereal, bed was really comfortable,  hosts were 1st class and helpful, would highly recommend at a reasonable rate. 👍

Lovely little place very easy to find a short walk into the busy town. 
Delightful hosts, Hamish is so cute! Rooms adequate and warm. Breakfast fresh and substantial. All in all a must. A gem of a cottage and the lovely hand made Christmas earrings- icing on the proverbial Christmas cake!

Lovely b&b in beautiful surroundings perfect for our weekend away.Excellent hosts and a fab breakfast,so much choice...cereals,fruit,toast,full English,tea,coffee,fruit juice,anything you want and really sets you up for the day.The gardens are mesmerising, real cottage feel and seating areas,walk up the steps and sit and watch/listen to the waterfall...perfect.we would definitely stay here again and would recommend for a peaceful stay with just a ten min walk to the centre of bowness.

Had THE best weekend! Anyone nervous about booking this place don't be. The rooms are not the biggest but big enough and bed very comfy. Value compared to others close by was excellent. We got chatting to a couple staying at the popular and very expensive Ro Hotel paying 3 times more than us and when I showed them photos of this place they were gutted because they had discounted it previously based on bad reviews and it turned out that their room was no more luxurious! Breakfast was exceptional and Heather makes her own preserves which were delicious. The place was unbelievably tranquil yet just 5 mins walk is all the hustle and bustle of the visitors. Can't wait to come back and would not hesitate to book. We stayed in the compact room for 2 nights and given that we are quite cuddly shall we say, ut was completely fine.

Great bed and breakfast. Fantastic room, very comfy bed and the breakfasts were amazing. Highly recommended. Perfect location and parking.

Lovely cottage a 10 min walk into Bowness and literally across the road from the lake. room was clean and had everything required.Breakfast was excellent with cereals, fruit up to a lovely full english cooked to perfection.The hosts are friendly and welcoming as is the family westie Hamish ! the cottage has its own waterfall in the garden ! We would definitely recommend staying here and when we return we will do so ourselves.

Great little place on windermere a short walk into bowness and very friendly host and little dog 🐕 breakfast was good and plenty of choi ce  room was fine all we needed  very clean and well looked after   the boat museum and Cafe was just opposite the cottage worth seeing and lovely to sit outside by the lake   all good and we enjoyed our time there d and b

We stayed at the Stockghyll cottage in June 2022 Adrian and Heather were great hosts we couldn't fault it at all. A great location for Bowness 10 minutes walk into the centre where there are loads of places to eat  and drink. Bowness is beautiful  The cottage is opposite the Steam ferry museum the cafe  is great it's right on the lake with fantastic views.

We booked this for my partners birthday and we got brilliant weather and fantastic views. The cottage had such a warm welcoming. Lovely breakfast to start your day off! 

Do take a look in the garden at their waterfall, such a lovely view!

Windermere is a lovely lake and do take advantage of the lake cruises!

Couldn't have chosen a better place to stay and we will definitely be recommending and coming back. The homemade jam is a must to taste too! Heather and Adrian have a lovely home!

Lovely little place a real gem!

Perfect weekend

Tranquility amidst the crowds

Nice cottage in ideal location. Room clean although sink not in bathroom but next to bed!! This was bit awkward in night after going loo. Gr8 breakfast. Both hall and doors to room looking tired and need a clean. 10 min walk to centre. Lots of nice bars and restaurants close by would recommend Villa Positano!

Positives Outway Negatives!

We enjoyed a 3 night stay here. Got there around 1pm and room wass ready already, so we could leave our bags and go and explore Bowness which was around a 5minute walk from the cottage.

What I would say is that the room number 1 is very small so maybe choose  room 2 or 3

Breakfast was nice. Allowed to also leave our car in drive for couple hours after check out.

Would return.

Nice stay

Overall, this was a great stay. The cottage is so beautiful, the room is very very small. We did know that but I was still quite shocked, tiniest of en-suites too but to be fair, we r big people! 
 I have to mention breakfast as it really was outstanding, only the best quality ingredients cooked perfectly for me! Lovely warm welcome from the owners, Adrian, Heather and lovely little Hamish!! X
