What is lacks in luxury, it makes up for it in charm. It’s a lovely place to stay, at the foot of mountain and at the doorstep of a national park. The staff are very kind and helpful, plus it’s affordable. The place to be, if perfection isn’t what you’re seeking for.

A charming place in the green

Passed by and stopped the hut kitchen opposite the road for lunch as the place looked nice and clean. We found the food to be so really good value for money that we thought it was worth a review. Recommend thin thai noodles with soy sauce for 65 baht, a bargain! 
The chiang dai nest 2 restaurant has even better thai food, though more expensive

Great value for money lunch

Didn’t actually stay in The Hut but used their restaurant across the road a couple of times.
Good friendly service, basic menu (reasonable prices), and the food is tasty. 
Good place to sit, chill and people watch.
Particularly liked their iced latte! 

Used the restaurant 

We stayed for two nights in a small hut with only room for a big bed. It was cheap and clean! We had toilets and showers outside in another building but it was t a problem since everything is very clean and there’s hot water in the showers. In the night we could hear all the noises from outside, since the hut is so small and we could have all the windows wide open thanks to mosquito net, it was like camping. The staff is very friendly but a little bit difficult on the communication part. Nothing to worry about though. We ordered a hike with the hotel and it was a fun experience! It’s a bit cooler up there and it was nice escaping the heat and tourists from Chiang Mai. The hostel have a hotel just across the road and we had both breakfast and dinner there. Simple dishes but alright!! :)

Lovely place below beautiful mountains

We loved our stay at Chiangmai dao hut, it's location was close to the Chiangmai dao cave as well as more temples. Breakfast was good, fried eggs and toast. They have motorbikes and bicycles rentals on site. With a mother bike is the best way to get around and you can see most sites in an full day and half. The hut was below the cliffs of the mountain and was very cool to be nestled in the jungle.

Lovely bungalow nested in the jungle

My partner and I stayed here 2 nights. The staff were very sweet but don't speak very much English ( not a major problem). This property is a long way from town however close to the cave. Bungalow was just okay and I feel I am being generous. Bed was harder than rock as was the pillow. No top sheet. No net over the bed. We did have a private bathroom. To be honest I didn't really like the area. There are better caves, hot springs and walking trails inThailand and certainly better places to stay. I wouldn't go here again.

Not for me

This is a lovely place to stay. We had a little bungalow overlooking beautiful gardens -- at night and in the morning there was an amazing orchestra of birds and geckos.

Our only hesitation ahead of time were the reviews commenting on poor mattresses, but when we arrived the woman said, "They're all new now!" We had a comfortable bed, clean wood bungalow, a beautiful porch. 

The bathrooms for our least-expensive bungalow (400 baht in Feb 2018) were separate and shared; mostly perfect, but on nights the place was more full they got a little bit messier. It was nice that the loos were separate from the showers -- great hot water, good water pressure. There was a self-service washing machine for 40 baht we were glad to use.  

The common areas in the front are lovely -- really relaxed and nice to hang out in. I really enjoyed staying here.

A lovely place to stay -- now, with new mattresses!

Great place, but we got bad advice for hiking, we ran into a guide and a driver who didn't say a word, after a rainy night we asked if it was dangerous to go hiking, not according to them, but we were faced with the mud from the series of slides after 30 minutes of walking, it was dangerous indeed, we felt like pigeons, disappointed that no one was taking responsibility, after 2 hours the guide on his motorcycle, the driver in his car and here we are, zero confidence, it's a shame, it could be true, we were reimbursed after a scandal, disappointed!

Very bad advice, to sleep yes but that's all

Very nice Guest House in a beautiful setting in the middle of nature. A very friendly boss, whispering and listening to our questions about the area. 1st night spent in a superb room with a view of lush vegetation (1200bth). 2nd in a much smaller but pleasant yet (700bth) room.

It's a beautiful place.

It's a nice corner that this resort with its bungalows facing the mountain in a well-maintained garden! Bungalows with 600 bathrooms with small terrace, bathroom, wifi. Very nice home from Aka! We stayed for two days to explore the surroundings and it was really very beautiful! Besides, it was very cold and we were provided with two extra blankets without pblm.
