What a cliché: “hidden gem.” But here we are, a classic! I have lived and worked in Bangkok for greater than 20 years, and most of my time has been spent as an acolyte of this kinetic and diverse city. I have written about its luxury resort/hotels, spas, golf courses, medical tourism — and VALUE— for decades. When I returned after the Covid pandemic, I discovered this elegant property tucked at the end of Sukhumvit Soi 12 and was regaled. Only 300 m away from noisy Sukhumvit, this boutique luxury 13-story hotel is a proverbial oasis in the frenetic heart of Bangkok. The general manager, Khun Nat, is the personification of hospitality and superb customer service. The entire staff embraces you and radiates smiles and bonhomie. I truly hate to give up the secret, but the views, the gardened pool, and the second floor café/restaurant are the epitome of urban serenity. Visit! But please keep my suite available!!
