The hostel is very close to the train station and is therefore a good starting point for further tours. The host is extremely friendly and kind and very helpful when it comes to to tours and bus trips. He makes breakfast himself and it is very delicious. He is a former construction engineer and built the house himself. He is now a triathlete and trains for the Iron Man in Taiwan. For a morning jogging round he is sure to have a 100% recommendation.

amazing hostel

The host came to pick me up at the train station with his own car, and he took me to his hotel. The rooms are four rooms but the comfort is there and it's nickel. He even made me breakfast the next morning! I highly recommend, very good quality/price ratio

Overnight work on Friday 1 to 2 July

It's only 10-min walk from Taitung Station, despite of a little far from the downtown (about 10 min scooter-ride). I love the the room clean, very comfortable and soundproofed well! The bathroom is equipped with separate dry-wet area. The host is very kind! Next time, I will still choose to stay at Soft Travel Hostel. Having very great experience there!

Great location, warm and comfortable room!

Free parking for our rental car just outside the property. It's got everything you need for a family stay. My kids love it especially the breakfast served. The rooms are very spacious. The host is great, friendly and a good cook. :) He advised us about our itinerary and places we should look out for in Taitung. It is because of Soft Travel House, we had great start to our trip along Taiwan East Coast. Also a nice place to met other travellers as we converge on the ground floor. Ask him about the famous Spring Onion Pancake in town! Delicious!

Lovely stay for families

Soft Travel Hostel, and it is exactly that, the host Mr Chen makes your trip to Taitung easy and you'll find it very enjoyable during your time there.The main method of travel to Taitung, if you are not driving, is by the railway, it is less than 4 hours from Taipei if you get on the fastest non-HSR train going down the east coast, or an hour and half train ride from Gaoxiong (Kaohsiung) if you get off the HSR on the west coast, and this hostel is a short 10 minute walk from the train station, and we were offered a free pick up by the host.What we really loved about this hostel is the host, Mr Chen, he'll do his best to take care of you while you are there, and we couldn't ask for a better stay.  He personally prepares the breakfast for his guests, and loves to tell you about Taitung and the area.The hostel itself is custom built by Mr Chen in 2014.  It is very elegantly built, and as a designer place, it is very spacious and comfy, with bright bathrooms, modern decor, and we loved everything in the hostel.Other than the train station, the hostel is some distance away from the downtown area, and if you are taking a taxi to/from downtown, it'll be about 200 NT one way (they don't do meters in Taitung, as of 2015 anyways), which is still very reasonable.Again, we love everything about this place, and is highly recommended because of the host, will certainly come stay again!

Beyond expectations

Great B&B with friendly young guy who owns/runs the place. He picked us up and even gave us a ride to downtown for dinner - super nice! Location is a bit inconvenient - close to the main station but pretty far from downtown so one needs to be aware of this.

Great place, value for money!

Hostel is about 10-15 mins walk from Tai Tung Train station. Owner offer to pick-up and send off during check-in and check-out to train station as most of us will have baggage to carry. Owner is very friendly. We arrived earlier at 11am during check in day and he allowed us to check in and rest at the room before we go for our excursion. Breakfast prepared is very delicious and look very nice. The hostel decoration is very nice and warm too. The room is clean and big. There is a sofa, coffee table, queen size big and big toilet in every room.

Extremely attentive, helpful and friendly host. Breakfast is made with care and tasty. Coffee and tea available at common dining area is a nice touch. The entire lodge is clean and tastefully furnished. Rooms are  comfortable.  Probably one of the best in the area!

Cozy Little Lodge

We absolutely loved this place. The owner was nice and offered to pick us up at the train station knowing that we had a huge luggage, and even personally cooked breakfast every morning! He went the extra mile by offering to drive us to the nearby park to cycle on our last day and would bring our luggage to the train station after we are done. Sadly it rained on the last day so our plans were cancelled :(There was also a night where we took a cab back from the outskirts of Taitung and the driver could not find the hostel so the driver called him on the phone. The owner answered almost immediately and rushed over from his home to the hostel to check if we have reached safely.The hostel is also very new & was built by himself less than a year ago. We had everything we needed and the place was clean. This is a really wonderful place to stay at, with a minute's walk to Taitung Train Station, and definitely a value for money. We are more than pleased with this place! Many thumbs here for the owner & the hostel!!!! :)
