Great base to visit the ancient city. Though from the road the apartment may look not well maintained, the inside of the apartment has very good standard. The room is clean and the owner is very friendly.  Ask him to lend you bikes to visit the ancient city. The road is quite noisy so better to bring earplugs with you. Definitely high value for money.

We stayed at Sun guesthouse for 2 nights. The owner was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and room very clean! His sunshine personality makes you feel welcomed there. Highly recommend!! 😄

The owner gets out of his way to make you feel comfortable. You have everything you need. It's very centrally located - just a couple of steps from the bus station. You can rent a bike at a really great price and be everywhere you want to go within minutes. Althought it's located right on the arterial road, it's surprisingly quiet at night time - located next to a rice paddy.
The food is absolutely excellent - the dinner was a feast and the breakfast was very good, too.

After our place in Sigiriya, this was also one of our better guesthouses in Sri Lanka. Location is great, rooms really lovely, breakfast delicious, and the fan was more than sufficient for restful sleep. The owner is fantastic, so friendly, engaging and helpful, and his wife cooks the most amazing curry and rice. There's not a lot options around, so I'd recommend eating in-house. I only wish we'd done so both nights we stayed as, in a country of fabulous curry and rice, this stood above the rest. Highly recommend this place.

We were totally blown away by the hospitality from the owner Sumit, upon arrival we were offered fresh fruit juice and a lot of banana as welcome gift, our room was nicely decorated. He arranged bikes for us which made our trip to Polonaruwa unforgettable.  The dinner was a total surprise, so many delicious Sri Lankan homemade good, we totally enjoyed it, it's the best we have ever had in our whole trip.  The breakfast on the following morning was another hit, it was super delicious and very healthy. We really love his food and the stay, we would not hesitate to recommend it to all of our friends. 

While staying in Polonnaruwa we stayed with Sumit and his family. We had a great time. We rented bikes and went to all the ruines, we did an elephant Safari and talked allot with Sumit. Whatever you need, he will either have it or buy it for you, free if charge! 2 nights we stayed, 2 nights he asked if he could join us in the evening to talk about everything. He was just the best host you could get. 10/10 would stay here again!

stayed here for 2 nights while we explored the ancient ruins. the owner is very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for being close to the ruins and the station is only a short tuk tuk ride away. the breakfast was fabulous, my favourite one of my whole holiday. He arranged bikes for us. The room was a good size, the bathroom was fine and the WiFi was strong. I highly recommend staying here
