The most friendly staff you will ever meet. The place has its unique atmosphere and you can sense the 100 years gone in the fjell. 
Breakfast was good and plenty. 4 course dinner at night was much better than expected. Quite and cosy. We loved it

Just what we where looking for in Norway

we have been there for winter holiday, living in a neaby hut which belongs to the hotel and was pretty new with an excellent view over the whole region. The location is perfect for exploring the Golsfjellet or the surrounding more or less flat area. There is also a small skiing resort nearby. The hotel crew is very friendly and uncomplicated. 

Cosy hotel, perfect for christmas holiday

This is a great homely hotel, with lovely food and a nice vibe with the ability to ski right from the front door. But, what makes it super special are the staff - they make you feel incredibly welcome and are bright and smiley all the time - The manager and Martin have created an amazing place.

Great views and the best staff

We were here with a group of hikers. The rooms are small but the ambiance is very nice. Great dinner and breakfast buffet. Large living rooms. Very good starting point for hikes. Very friendly and family friendly service. Very quiet location.

A relaxing starting point for hiking

Family Norwegian hotel... all made of wood. Aesthetic. On the first floor of the mini-museum... happy hosts. Breakfast is quite modest. The hotel is mostly (as far as I'm concerned) geared towards eco-tourists and skiers.

The hotel is 1,001 meters high.

You feel at home right away. The service is so nice and familiar, the house is cozy and the hustle and bustle of a city can't be further away. The hotel is right on several aisles that are regularly tracked. Equipment can be borrowed from the hotel. Breakfast buffet and dinner with fresh ingredients are very delicious! For lunch you can have a thermos can filled and bread lubricated. It's the right place to turn off and enjoy.

A great hotel, a very nice ski resort - Norway at its best!

We spent a week based at this hotel on a Naturetrek tour. From the friendly welcome and ever-helpful information, to the  comfortable en-suite rooms with balcony views, it was superb - the best food I think I've ever experienced in Europe, with a magnificent smorgasbord breakfast from which we had arranged to make lunch, to the 4 course evening delight - each course delicate and beautifully presented, alternating meat and fish. And the location on the plateau, with gentle walks with our special Naturetrek guide Jessica, and beautiful scenery, made this a most memorable time. 

A gem in rural Norway

The cottages are very new and very well equipped. The insulation is perfect, each room has its own bathroom. Their roofs are beautifully covered with grass. It's an ideal place for easy family walks. Gol is a 20-minute drive to go shopping.

Very comfortable jackets

Father and son were Lucky enough to get a last minute room for a Three-day stay for the Winter holiday. The hotel is cosy (only 40 rooms), the room was clean and silent.
Food was excellent. Good 4-course dinner (lasts a bit too long for a kid maybe). Large breakfast With quality ingredients at which you prepare Your sandwiched for the day.
The staff is very Nice, flexible and helpful.
The facilities at the hotel are OK. We liked the small free ski lift and the ski slope beside the hotel and all the country ski tracks starting in all directions from the hotel. We liked the lavvo (large tippi) Close to the hotel where we could light Your fire and grill Our sausages (in pure Norwegian tradition).
THe other facilities at the hotel could be upgraded. The sauna smells very bad and the playroom is useless (the advertised billiard and pingpong table are in a bad shape).

It was a very pleasant stay, maybe more for couples than for families

Nice staff, good food, pleasant stay

We stayed in a wedding suite with our three children. A super experience with a jacuzzi in the bathroom. A balcony bed for extra beds for adults and children. chosen by ourselves, when we could have all been in the same suite. Golsfjellet is warm and full of skislopes right in front of the door. Kamben welcomed the very first oriental tourists to Golsfjellet. Three sucrose dishes in the Norwegian way for dinner.
