Our first week in a month long trip in Maldives trip around the islands started at Iru Guest House in Thulusdhoo. This guest house was so good, we returned for a few days  later in the month. They book out fast and dont have many rooms, so if they have availability, it is THE place to stay on the island.

The only guest house on the island that you can walk out directly onto the bikini beach and it’s perfect white sand and palm trees.

Very stylist with good sized, comfortable rooms. The first time we stayed in the family room on the ground floor that you could walk straight out onto the beach, the second time we stayed on the 1st floor with it’s four poster bed and amazing balcony with views over the worm Turquoise blue waters.

Great breakfast in the morning and unlimited water, tea and coffee throughout the day.

The manager Nadine, contacted us before we arrived, organised the public speedboat from Male, greeted us, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stays.

The staff are fantastic, organising excursions, laundry and even a tailor.

Dinners we eat out, although they can organise food in-house. We discovered the three best places to eat on the island, all along the beach and near to Iru - Batuta (attach to Surf View) for its fresh fish (and there huge set meals), great staff, great value, great chef, Canopus for their veg curry, and Sandbank for their Prawns. Avoid Samura, next to Iru, which is overpriced and unpleasant with its incredibly rude Italian manager.

Iru helped us with a number of excursions, including jet skiing and reef trips to see rays and turtles, and diving through Feenee diving, with its base behind Iru.

Due to our length of time in the Maldives, we stayed in both resorts and guest houses. Iru was the highlight, made even better by Stuart, the coolest kitten, rescued by Nadine with only a little sight in one eye and so playful.

The most perfect place in Thulusdhoo

If you think you're going to get to this guest house and find the typical Maldivian sea you're in the wrong place. Unfortunately in front of the Iru the beach is not clean and the sea is full of boats and water bikes. If you walk for 15 minutes you arrive from the other side of the island where there is a beautiful Maldivian beach (the one you see in the photos) unfortunately it is devoid of vegetation and there is not even a palm tree to shelter from the sun. You can actually enjoy this beach for 5 days out of 7 because these two are for exclusive use of the local population. Before you leave, look for a little diet because here the menu is full of pasta, rice, bruschettes and pizza (the carbohydrates are a little less).

Bad experience

I'd like to share my experience with you about this vacation I spent (for the first time) in a guest house. Since it's been 5 years in a row that we've been going to the Maldives (in no resort regard), but this time, we've been dragged by the desire for a different experience, but not just by setting aside these islands for us so dearly loved. I've been following in particular the Guest House named Samura, a little bit to hear about it and a little bit to see indirect acquaintance of people who had been there, in August my husband tries to drive but they tell us right away that the efforts were all at hand, but that, cera at all costs (to them) we've been dragged by the desire to have a different experience, but not by setting aside just these islands for us so dearly loved. The Truth About the Iruru Guest House

Hello everyone, I've just returned and I still have them all in my heart...the guesthouse formula for me has been amazing...the staff is welcoming and caring beyond normal. I suffer from allergies and although I have a smaller variant than us they always tried to meet me...I know he's the manager and all the guys are great!!!!The clean rooms and the table shared a nice situation. I'll definitely go back there with my love ❤thanks again

An unforgettable holiday✌

We took advantage of both the restaurant and the beach, but not the rooms. We had dinner and lunch at competitive prices. Kind service, available even at the speed of the Maldives. Free Wi-Fi. The beach, unfortunately, in the sand includes rocks and pieces of coral; you always have to go into the water with rubber shoes. Always beware of motorboats and water bikes, which pass too close to the water swimmers. Marine current sometimes very strong. However, a quiet place, well managed by Matteo and Francesca.

L Iru guesthouse is a little bit the younger sister of the nearby Samura.The property is located directly on the beach, clean, well maintained and perfectly coordinated by Francesca who is able to manage the exceptional Maldivian boys of the staff and satisfy the guests. But beware, it is up to the guest to know what he is facing; whoever chooses to live in the Maldives on a local island must already know from the beginning that he will not be able to claim the same comfort as a resort: Thulus is an island that must be explored and lived.Furthermore, observe the inhabitants, respect their culture and carry the same tourist materials with which they welcome the guests.

The essence of the Maldives

We had a wonderful week with the family. Everything was perfect and carefully cared for to the smallest detail. Wonderful excursions: from sand tongues, to snorkeling with turtles, sharks and manta rays.

Maldives

We are now starting from this recent guest house, run by the same Samura boys, the two most beautiful facilities on the island. The structure is simple but nothing is missing, the cook is very good, even though not many raw materials are available. The location is directly in front of the beach at the best place to bathe on the whole island. There are only 3 rooms, enlarged to 5, this makes the structure intimate and warm. But I would like to focus on the guys who work in the structure, splendid people who add an incredible value to the experience: caring, discreet, always ready to do in 4 to make your vacation better, really the march to more than this place.

What a wonderful experience.

Our first experience in the Maldives and thanks to Francesco, Giacomo and Francesca it was wonderful and unforgettable. The location is fantastic, directly on the beach, having breakfast or dinner with them and the other guests with the sea at 10 meters is a wonderful feeling. Iru's rooms (3 currently) are neat and clean, the towel change is frequent, and the team is extremely kind and attentive (pizza and focaccia every night at 18 and 30 etc.). We made some beautiful excursions on the sand tongues and various suggestive snorkeling.

Maldives to the fullest.

No words to explain how is beautiful this place.
