Arpathea Villas

My wife and I stayed in Studio #1 for 4 nights, and it was the best place in our opinion for location, view, comfort and service we could find on Karpathos. Very serene, quiet and comfortable, with beautiful sunsets on the island’s west coast. We had great meals at Kedros and under the trees tavernas, and met with friends and family from Piles and enjoyed a nice dinner at the picnic table outside on the patio at night, where we could see the lights from Kasos and even as far away as Crete ( just beautiful). This location is perfect for beach hopping to our favorites, from the sandy crystal clear waters at Damatria and Diakoftis, then to Agios Nikolai’s in Arkasa (hike up to the acropolis as well) then north to Lefkos. Or cut across to the East side and take a tour with Captain Manouli to the island of Saria, or swim and snorkel at our favorite Apella beach. Pigadia is great for restaurants and shopping, and between Ammoopi to Kaststelia there are great places for snorkeling but these areas are becoming very busy, which is why we prefer to stay at the Arpathea Villas on the West side. If you want to stay in the great little town of Piles just up the hill, check out the beautiful “A Rock House”, and be sure to grab a snack and engage in conversation at the Panorama Cafe. Looking forward to next year, we’ll be back.
