Grandes Apartments Kouremenos

We stayed in these excellent apartments every year since 2005 and really like them. They are very well located, well equipped, kept clean and are regularly maintained and re-decorated. The owner Nikos Hatzidakis and Katerina are really nice friendly people and always look after their guests. They speak perfect English and Nikos is one of the most reliable people I have ever met ! He regularly visits the apartments personally to ensure everything is in good order and is easily contactable if any help is needed. There are two separate groups of apartments and we have often stayed in both locations. The locations are both beautiful and peaceful. Kouremenos Beach Apartments are right by the beach, ideal for swimming in the sea and with a good taverna nearby. Rousolakos apartments are near the south end of the bay and just a short walk from the next smaller sandy bay Xiona (Chiona) and the ancient Minoan town. There are three nice tavernas right next to the beach. There is a good sized secluded swimming pool between the Rousolakos apartments and this is always kept very clean. The apartments are set back from a quiet tarmac road and connect to the beach by a gravel road. The villages of Palaikastro and Agathia are nearby and have shops for groceries and day-to-day needs. In Palaikastro there are a few souvenir shops and other shops, plus a post-office, banks and cash machines. The large town of Sitia is just 15 minutes drive away. Various tourist attractions like Vai Beach, Toplou Monastery and Kato Zakros Gorge are nearby. It is also a great place for watersports and there is a windsurf centre at the southern end of the beach. Highly recommended !
