It's nice and comfortable in all its very clean inlays, a little far from the center about 700m! The very friendly staff... we like it very much! It can be accessed with a few pickup trucks that function as taxis $2 the cost.

Lindo, comfortable and clean.

A very cozy, clean and staffed place is very friendly, the site is a little retired but can be reached by public transport on foot, has nearby minimarket, delicious breakfast, its owner is very friendly and concerned about helping and solving, the site is quite safe, has a swimming pool, sure we will return but already on our own, at our own pace and sure we will stay in your familiar environment.

Giovanni is an incredible host! He goes out in four to make our stay enjoyable with his advice or attention. The pool is top quality, the rooms are clean and cleaned every day with regularly changing towels and sheets. Breakfast is very good and we are 10-15 minutes from the beach on foot. A short dream stay. Thank you! 100% recommendation

A week in paradise

I gave it 4 points out of 5 because my bathroom the first day was covered, but it was solidified, the shower was damaged, the air was damaged, and it was fixed. The pool wasn't ready when I arrived, which was one of the main points of choice for this hotel. Very clean everything, the gentle gentleman, rich breakfast. It was 10 minutes from the malecon that made us spend a little time in taxis when we were very tired.

It's all right!

We stayed in top floor very spacious apartment with view over the town offering good sunsets. Very smooth check in and welcome with good tips provided. 10 minutes walk down hill to waterfront. We found restaurants in back streets provided better value for money, bigger helpings and provided accurate receipts than some on the waterfront. Plenty of shops with supplies as we had breakfast and lunch in the apartment. Wifi so-so; improved on walkway to apartment.  Quiet neighbourhood. Slept OK. Good hot water for shower. In quiet suburb

We were well taken care of, the room is simple, clean, but the place is very basic! The hotel is a little far from the city center, so to go and back, we need a taxi. We even went on foot, because we like to walk and because it's downhill, but the ride was already complicated.

Don't expect luxury!

We stayed at Stefanys in a family group of 10 from England (2 cuuretly live in Ecuador) age range from 5-75 most of us having our first visit to the island and it suited us all great rooms were spacious and cleaned to a good standard breakfast was great and we got great help and advice from Stefany for transport and guides etc, kids loved the pool and had a fantastic time, lots of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance perfect few days thanks

Spacious clean rooms great pool friendy welcome

before you book check to make sure the huge renovation which is happening right now has been finished. It was a building site, in fact I would say it is actually dangerous to have open at the moment. They began work before 7am, bits of concrete and building materials falling off the new floor above us. The owners apologized and I suggested they actually give us some of our money back. However, that didn't seem to be an option.
When the place is finished it is clean, great pool, owner is kind and very friendly. Only 4 stars because it is a bit far to walk from the waterfront. Oh, and forget the 'balcony' it is a walkway, not a balcony.

4 STARS BUT NOT UNLESS RENO IS FINISHED

It was our first time at a hostel, and it exceeded our expectations. We were very well taken care of here. Had rooms 3, 4 and 5. Very clean rooms, great showers, Maria made a very good breakfast each morning. It is helpful having the owners on site. The pool was very clean. We all enjoyed our stay. We came from a newer and more spacious place that did not have air conditioning, breakfast or a pool. Thank goodness we booked Stefanys. It was a big improvement. Yes, we all agreed that we would come back here.

USA folks- I can't speak for all hostels here, but Stefanys is a fine family run motel. Good for singles, couples and families with children. Nice bargain. Most taxi drivers knew where Stefanys was located. If they did not we  told them that it was run by Giovanni. No problem, everyone knows him! The center of town is a 15 min walk down hill. Cabs are usually $2.00 for a ride to Stefany's (4 of us).

Bring sun screen, bug spray, after bite and lots of small cash (dollars 1,5,10s). There are many affordable laundry mats here. No need to bring lots of clothes to lug around.

Great stay

After travelling west to east across the date line, spending some 36 hours in planes or in transit, Stefany's delivered the perfect chance to unwind for 3 nights before joining a cruise.
The place itself is quaint and maintained spotlessly. The hosts are family friendly and have helped with many minor emergencies from collecting lost baggage (by the airline) from the airport, to helping locate power chords list when bags had clearly been opened during their list period.
Stefany's is about 1klm from town up a gentle hill. Our 8yo daughter made walk twice a day easily. There are several sites easily in reach if a day walk, but Stefany's will help organise taxis and tours.
Rooms are comfortable, beds good and our had ensuite in room. Tariff includes simple breakfast, free internet and use of a small refreshing pool. Air con is in room, that some may find reassuring.
We thoroughly recommend Stefany's Lodge.
