From booking, to the moment we left this was a great experience. Daniel was so helpful all the way along with advise and tips for the area, helping us get reservations and even down to our taxi to leave! 

The room was spacious and comfortable and the shower was powerful and hot! The kitchen was well equipped and the pool and communal areas were comfortable and kept really tidy. 

A short walk into town but well worth it for the peaceful setting! 

Incredible experience 

EL CIELO is really honoring its name. Monica and Daniel are very dedicated to keeping everything clean and taking care of all the wishes of the guests. We were there for about a month and would come back anytime. The location is superb... away from the loud discs, however, it is possible to walk to the center and back at any time of the day. For $1.50, you can take a taxi, which is available enough and also by phone is fast on the spot. The atmosphere is very familiar. The pool is refreshing and in the kitchen are all the utensils. It's beautiful.

We stayed there for a full month, and it was amazing! The hosts are lovely and make you feel at home. They are very good advice for visiting the area, for surfing lessons... The room is comfortable, the common ones too! If we had to go back to Montanita, this is the place we would return to without hesitation.

The right place to be if you like to sleep in Montañita! Quiet, clean and cozy. And for sure Daniel and Monika will make you feel at home! They’re great chat and have a broad knowledge of the area and can help you plan whatever you like to do around the area!

El cielo, literally!

We had a great week with Monica and Daniel! very good reception and tips for visiting the region. The rooms are impeccable, the kitchen is perfectly equipped and the garden and swimming pool are very pleasant! a little corner of paradise a little away from the noise and bustle of downtown. And Daniel's surf lessons are great!

The sky is mountainous.

A hostel in a beautiful and quiet place, with gardens, networks, reading space, everything very clean and organized. The couple's room we stayed in was spacious and with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was very good. The owners, Daniel and Monika, are very attentive and helpful, (and they speak Portuguese, which is quite unusual in Ecuador) besides good papas, and they gave us very interesting tips about the city. Great company. Although the hostel is in Montañita, it is in a quiet place, away from the city's incessant ballads, but we are still near the beach (less than 10 minutes walk). If you want to guarantee a quiet sleep, this is the hostel, and this was very encouraging. Finally, my girlfriend and I love Montañita, and if we stay back there, we can stay there.

Sleeping peacefully in Montañita (Yes this is possible)

Very peaceful, cozy, and safe place to stay. It’s a short walk from town which I really liked because I had no problem sleeping at night. The owners are very nice and helpful with recommendations. Also, the breakfast is amazing!

I have come and I have extended my stay in el cielo! for what reasons are these: -> cleanliness: after 6 months of baroude in South America, I can guarantee you that this hostel is one of the cleanest places I have slept in. -> the reception: we feel welcome as if we were in a gite in France. Monika, Daniel and their volunteers are very available and good advice. Friendly bonds form quickly, you feel at home. -> the little dej: a real treat.

I had an amazing birthday at this hostel! Monika and Daniel were super welcoming and attentive, and even upgraded our room as a birthday treat. The hostel is the perfect place to stay in Montañita, close enough to town that you can enjoy the nightlife but far enough that you can sleep and relax. They also give you loads of recommendations for food and activities which is really helpful. Thank you Monika and Daniel! :) 

Great stay! 

Staying in this hostel was a very happy choice! The atmosphere is pleasant and the location is perfect. Montañita is a noisy city and being a little far from the center ensures a quieter sleep. El Cielo is far enough away to escape the mess, but it does not require walking for more than 10 minutes to get to the central area of Montañita. Monika and Daniel, the owners, are super helpful and friendly. Good people to kick a punch about life and also to collect reliable information about the place. We feel comfortable and comfortable staying in this hostel. We had a wonderful experience!
