Not in a great area for an American over 30 to go out to the bars and restaurants' menus aren't easy to understand. Bars get going after 10pm and it's a younger crowd. Felt safe in the neighborhood. Not good places to sit and watch people go by as not many people are walking around earlier and Avenida 33 is more like a highway. It is close to Sweet Georgia Cafe which has expats that meet there Monday mornings for an American breakfast. Los Molinos mall is close - it has a Cinnabon. The metro is not close You can walk down to the Metro Plus bus La Palma stop and it will take you to Industriales. Take 316 bus to go to Laureles. I like this concept of an apartment hotel where you can pay day to day but have a bigger space with access to a full kitchen. It does get annoying in downstairs rooms when morning people sometimes get up at 6am and make breakfast and have to talk a lot which can be heard in all the rooms. Some rooms have a fridge, two burners and a sink. There is no front desk and no one in the building overnight but that helps make it less expensive. They advertise English is spoken but it is only the main contact who is rarely at the building. The day to day workers don't speak a word and don't try to communicate with english speakers. It is quiet in the rooms downstairs at least from outside noise. Dogs are allowed and people let them roam free which isn't right. Sometimes they run up and bark at people they think are invaders or if you have the door open to your room they may sneak in and bark at you. You need to set an appointment to meet someone to give you the keys and pay in cash. Do not pay with credit card because they may not know the reservation then. They post the contact information on the door. Make sure you have Whatsapp.
