The hotel is nicely situated and very close to some nice bars and restaurants. The room we were in (8) was very spacious and comfortable. The bed was perfect with lots of different pillows to choose from. The bathroom was massive. There was double glazing which cut the noise from outside down. 

Staff were friendly and helpful. My wife speaks fluent Spanish but even my own poor language skills were enough to get around.

On the first day we walked from the hotel all the way down to Bolivar Square which took about an hour along Carrera 7 although you can walk down to 13 and take the TransMilenio. Journeys are COL$1700. You can obtain and load a card from the booth with a certain amount of journeys. 

We did encounter lots of helpful people at bus stops who heard us talking in English and pointed us in the correct direction unprompted. Of course we kind of knew were we wanted to go so that helped with trust. They were all keen to ensure we didnt go off the wrong way.

When we left they sorted us a taxi which came and took us to the airport at around 7am. It took around 25 minutes. On our last night we stayed at another place close by and it took almost 1.5hrs at 1800.  Leave plenty of time if you are doing the same.

Small, cosy hotel in nice area

Very helpful and friendly, eg Marta on reception, Juan Carlos with good English. Big room, v v comfy big bed, huge bathroom, good location for restaurants, good wifi etc. Excellent breakfast on site. A real find in a good area with lots of eating places nearby and vg security. A small hotel designed by a famous architect in the 1950s. It's about midway between Candelaria (gold museum etc) and Usaquen.

Small, friendly, well located

The hotel is in a great location in Zona G, near good restaurants and a short taxi ride to the Zona Rosa and also not too far away in a taxi from La Candelaria. 

However they don't seem to have quite worked out to run a hotel yet, although it seems like they have been there for a long time. For example, when we arrived (a family of four in two bedrooms, no4 and 5, booked several months before) there was only one towel per bathroom, no bathmat and no soap. When we asked for them it felt like we were asking for something odd. On the first morning there was no hot water (we had flown in from the UK so we were having showers at 7am, having woken up at 5am). I had to get dressed and go down to reception to ask why there was no hot water and they indicated that they needed to turn it on and it would be hot in a few minutes. It was only hot enough for two of the four of us to have warm showers (which isn't great in Bogota as it's not exactly tropical outside in the morning). I can sort of live with this as a once off. But the same thing happened the next morning and I had to go down to reception again and it was a repeat of the first day (they turned on the hot water and we had two warm showers and two cold ones). We were pretty irritated by this and let them know on the way out  i the morning (politely, I would add) and to their credit their was a nice apologetic note and a box of chocolate covered mangos in our room when we came back in the evening. They promised to turn on the water at 6.30am the next morning. When I stepped into the shower at 7.45am the next morning it was cold and I had to get dressed, go down to the reception and they then promised to turn on the water.

That said, our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The children had a larger room and it was a modern, well designed room that they really liked. Our bedroom was slightly odd in that it looked out onto an internal courtyard where people were eating their dinner. We were going to bed fairly early and we went to sleep to the sound of people chatting. More strangely, the bathroom didn't have a blind so if anyone looked up they would have seen us washing (and going to the toilet) in the bathroom had we decided to have the light on when we were there (we instead used it in the dark in the evening).

The breakfast was good and the soundtrack to our morning meals was excellent on all three days.

One final point is that there appears to be no one in the whole hotel who speaks a word of English. I'm fine with this....we are in a Spanish speaking country after all...but for a lot of travellers to a capital city in what describes itself as a boutique hotel it would be a surprise that no one speaks anything other than Spanish (we tried German, French and Italian too....).

The one massive upside is that the hotel is really good value by comparison with the big international chains. However I would have happily paid quite a lot more a night just to have the basics of hot water, towels etc sorted out without having to make a fuss.

Location a lot better than the service

The hotel is very pleasant, the design and architecture are magnificent (it was built by a famous Colombian architect), the decoration of the rooms very beautiful. All the staff members are very pleasant and attentive. There is a friendly interior courtyard where you can see the pizzaiolo being activated to a real pizza oven, and the wall is decorated with a beautiful vertical garden which is occupied by the owner of the hotel.

It's perfect.

We went there just to escape from routine and the tinny ugly appartament we had then and I´m so glad we did. The hotel is perfectly located in the G zone, just few steps from great restaurants and bars but dinner only nedded few steps down, because the restaurant in the hotel calle Vitto, had the perfect food awaiting. The attention was kind and quick, the cocktails were amazing and they have live music. I surely recomend this place, the hotel and its restourant wich also provide great breakfast.

Perfect weekend

We stayed in this hotel 6 nights and were thoroughly happy.  Our room was a large,bright corner one (#3) that was a pleasure to come back to after a tiring day exploring Bogota. The reception staff was amazingly helpful but our very limited Spanish and their very limited English, meant that  communicating took work.   I'd recommend using something like Google translate.   The location is close to dozens of first class restaurants (that we chose using the TripAdvisor reviews).  Two minor quibbles.   The hot water stopped working twice and the breakfast can get a little boring if you stay for more than a few nights because there are only 3 choices. 
We are coming back for 2 nights at the end of our Colombia tour. 

Excellent hotel in perfect Chapinero location

The hotel is very well located and honors its category of Hotel Boutique with a charming, sober and creative décor; we took the Deluxe room for a night where we enjoyed the space and felt very well taken care of by the staff. The bathroom has good lighting, good quality products and a perfect tub, the linen could be better but I didn't find it bad, there are two dresses that could be a little softer and extra pillows of excellent quality. The room has a mini bar at reasonable prices but the refrigerator didn't cool anything, it seemed off or with many degrees of temperature to my taste, there was no coffee or water, neither of which I consider essential when staying in a hotel like this.

I liked it but...

We spent a business week in Bogotá and chose this hotel because it looked very quiet and very well located.The reality is that it is a very comfortable hotel, where the staff hang out with the guests and which also has a very good restaurant for breakfast and dinner.

A great discovery.

A complete experience with all the ingredients to make an evening special, from reception to breakfast, was perfect!

Genius is a genius.

The hotel is very well located in the Gourmet area and the rooms are very nice, but the renovation work of the restaurant has affected both breakfast, and the availability of some common areas, and the availability of water during the day
