210 reviewsWe travel in a camper truck and stayed a week at Los Abuelos and had a great time. There is no electricity at the sites but other than that the facilities are first rate. The bathrooms are pleasant and always clean and the showers always have hot water 24 hours a day. The common room has fast wifi, and tables and chairs. Los Abuelos is conveniently located with a short walking distance to a super market, and the shops and restaurants. The staff is friendly and helpful. They also rent rooms and cabañas. Definitely a nice place to stay.

All citizens of Chile, regardless of the duration of their stay, and all foreigners who stay in the country for at least 60 consecutive days may have to pay the national sales tax (19%) when checking out. To receive tax exemption, foreign citizens must pay for their stay upon entry in foreign currency (not Chilean pesos) or with a credit card issued abroad and present a valid passport along with the migration card they received upon entry into the country. If a person subject to paying the tax and another exempt from the same share a room, the rate may be applied to the entire room. Based on local tax laws, Chilean citizens (and foreigners staying more than 59 days in Chile) must pay an additional fee of 19%. Please note that for tax exemption foreign travellers must pay in US dollars and have to present the migration card they are given when they arrive to the country. Foreign business travellers, who require a printed invoice, will also be charged the additional 19% regardless of the length of their stay in Chile. This fee is not automatically calculated in the total costs for the reservation. |
