A: A night at Perth Manor! Our room: seashell pink and fern, with touches of claret; named for said governess, Elizabeth Hughes (catalyst for Perth’s famous “Last Duel”). A jewel box with soaring ceilings, the walls feature frescoes created for “Miss Henderson”, sister to the original lady of the Manor. Did the blue eyes of the charmingly painted putti truly follow me? I hope so....

Spotless and barely scented with a lovely light fragrance, our room overlooked the sweet terrace, (where breakfast or drinks are served during current indoor dining restrictions) lush lawn and blooming gardens.  

The bed was excellent as was the soundless climate control (the window opens, too).

Common areas, although their use during Step 1 is slightly limited (all COVID protocols are followed) are very original: the ticking clocks, vintage photos and other features make them so special. Returning from an evening walk to this hushed, dignified grand dame of a property was magical. Visit her soon—she reverts to a private home in September and bookings will fill fast. There are just too many details to rave about; go discover her for yourself!

Thank you to Gordon & Linda for noting our special occasion and adding thoughtful touches to our stay. Professional yet warm, and “real”, this couple define hospitality. Breakfast was amazing: fresh, delicious, beautifully plated and served with a smile beneath the mask!

Our expectations for a quiet, safe getaway in a historic property near home were exceeded.



Q: What is more romantic than a duel fought over a governess?

We needed a break from our own space, just for a few days. After digging around on the internet for options, I came across the Perth Manor. What convinced me we should stay was the amazing photos and history of the Manor, but what completely won us over and will have us back to stay again was so much more. 
The fantastic hosts, Linda & Gordon, the warm and friendly service, delicious breakfasts, beautiful rooms, wonderfully, relaxing space in the Robert Lyon Suite, comfortable bed and just the absolute magnificence of the Manor. What an interesting place, even with all of the CoVid restrictions (which they adhere to faithfully, and have regular inspections for). As a family we are super CoVid aware and felt safe the entire time we stayed. I have seen photos of the beautiful gardens (currently covered in snow) and can only imagine how much more they are in-person. A great location in Perth with easy access, by walking, to Stewart Park, historic downtown, fantastic restaurants and neighbourhoods that just ask for being wandered around.
We can't wait to stay here again!

I Can't Wait To Stay Again

Very unique Victorian-esque property & decor, & located steps away from the main street shops, bars, & restaurants. The breakfast was excellent. Hosts have great knowledge of, & enthusiasm for,  their vicinity.

Unique historical property

This property transcends the every day spots to lay your head down. Room was excellent as were the hosts who provided everything we could want including a great breakfast on the grounds. We will not hesitate to make this a destination spot in the future. A beautifully kept building and grounds. A special place to spend a special day. Close to everything in town

Wedding Anniversary

Wonderful relaxing experience. Gord and Linda were excellent hosts. They were very knowledgeable about all the local restaurants and the history of the estate and town.Warm friendly atmosphere and a great breakfast.Will definitely be back!

Weekend getaway

Service 5 stars, accommodations 5 stars, breakfast 5 stars, Linda and Gordon were the best hosts. Gave us direction to top sites, Gordon was the perfect bartender and Linda kept me in line when it came to the wives. The grounds were beautiful but after all the great things about this place is they made us feel at home. Like it was our place. That we weren't visitors. I've been to many B&B's and this one is by far the best. The rest can't match the service, food and hospitality that was shown to us.

Zero complaints 

My partner and I were married on September 12th 2020, and we chose to use the Perth Manor Boutique Hotel as our wedding venue.

Gord and Linda really helped to make things easy for us by streamlining the planning process- they handled everything relating to food, alcohol, guest lodging, rentals, and setup, which saved us innumerable headaches. Furthermore, because we chose to use local vendors at their recommendation, coordination on the day of the wedding was extremely efficient, and we experienced no problems at all! Linda is an excellent event coordinator, and Gord is a top-notch chef. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, the grounds are beautiful, and the décor is fantastic for anyone who wants to experience a bit of old-world opulence at a very reasonable price! Based on our experiences, we would definitely recommend the Perth Manor, either as a wedding venue, or as a simple weekend getaway!

Simply Magnificent!

From the moment we drove up, the grandeur of the manor was apparent. Its architectural style is simply beautiful.  As we entered the manor, the attention to detail and the ambiance was breathtaking. There was cozy sitting room and then an elegant dining/meeting room in view upon entry. 
The beauty of this manor is not the only strength the manor has to offer. The friendly and dedicated service was consistent from the moment we checked in, until the moment we checked out. Once Linda took us to our comfortable, clean and inviting room, she told us to call the front desk if we had any questions or needs. She efficiently pointed out the main features of the room, such as the wifi password, temperature control etc. She gave us the feeling that we could call the front desk at any time if we needed anything. 
I could write a whole separate and  positive review about the wonderful, wonderful breakfast we enjoyed. Gordon certainly knows how to cook and present tasty and hearty breakfast. I will attempt to succinctly summarize the breakfast by saying that the menu choices were varied, it was delicious, and the presentation could easily rival a very expensive breakfast served at a 5 star restaurant or hotel. All of this was presented on elegant  Royal Doulton
dinnerware. 
As my partner and I left the parking lot the next morning, I made the comment....”We must come back sometime.” I have a feeling we will be back sometime very soon. 

Weekend Getaway

Perth Manor itself is on a beautiful property, perfect for outdoor events for gatherings. Inside, this historic manor has been converted into six warm and cozy rooms. Not to mention the stunning formal dining room, piano room, eating area and the licensed bar. Gordon and Linda provided excellent and friendly service, and Gordon's breakfast was amazing and artfully plated. We give our unreserved endorsement of this place!

Beautiful place and excellent service

This is an absolutely beautiful manor with so much history ! We loved our stay and will certainly be back! The room was beautiful, there was nice music playing in our room upon arrival , chocolates by the bed , beautiful antique furniture. The only small complaint was the bed it was very uncomfortable unfortunately so we didn’t sleep well hopefully they will make some mattress changes otherwise everything was wonderful!!
