This is a terrible dirty place. There were two small mismatched pillows. The comforter looked like it was from the 70s. The sheets were ill fitting and had blood spots and other dirt. The manager came right in the room to set up the tiny tv, set up the channels, adjusted the sound and took that remote so there was no way to adjust the volume. We left at 5 am and would not have even stayed had we not been driving all day. All we wanted to do was leave and get home to shower. Disgusting!

Disgusting

Extremely clean but very dated. The young man running this motel is working really hard to update this motel and for this reason I will stay there again.  No ice machine but there is an Irving and a Tims 5 minutes away for ice and coffee.  The property has a large lawn and a stream for this kids to play.  Lots of mosquitoes. Bring bug spray.

The staff are very nice, but the compliments stop!! We stayed 4 days / family vacation. A deplorable hygiene! The housekeeping has not been done once in 4 days! And we wonder even since when this room hadn't seen a baldy or a swivel!! Hair everywhere under the beds, rugs to hide the trash, a refrigerator that didn't work! I'm going for the climate!

This is disappointing!!!!

Decent dated, room with all the amenities including tv, microwave, fridge, A/C etc…. The bed was firm and after the debacle at my previous night's stay in PEI, I was glad for a restful sleep. The young attendant was very gracious, easy check in and she even provided me with a Tupperware of ice when asked. A good stay but excessively over priced, way beyond similar hotels not in the Cape Breton area. Poor Value

Poor Value.

This reasonably priced hotel was on our way to Cape Breton. Well located, it allowed a stop before undertaking the large loop of the Cabot Trail. The staff was supportive and available. However, it was in terms of cleanliness that some shortcomings were noticed. For example, the presence of a large backdrop of dirt on a wall shows that the maintenance staff is not very alert. Unfinished repairs (e.g. plaster present) are not present in our room.

A few shortcomings

Stopped here over the long weekend. Previous review is correct. We had a large spider watching us all night  among many other insects. Room was like a being in Jumanji. Bed was horrible not to mention the several doors to nowhere. Bathroom door had a sign bathroom in case you weren't sure what it was. All other reviews over 2 years old. Skip this place and choose somewhere else or sleep in your car.

We stayed Friday night coming in very late, if not we would not have stayed at all, no smoke detectors, spiders all over the door to open it, like you know we are coming! the bed was horrible!!! might have slept 4 hrs had to get up I hurt all over! hair all over the rads, and windows, the t.v wasn't hooked up, my better half hooked it up, and the air conditioner was full of cobwebs! is there no inspections in Nova Scotia!!! and to charge for that state, they should be ashamed of themselves!!

do not waste your money!!!!!

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the room was. It was by a pretty little creek in the trees of fall colors. The room was clean and very comfortable. It had a large bay window. It had a full size dining table and a desk along with three chairs plus a very comfortable rocking chair. There was also a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The only negative was there was no hair dryer and the bed was small. The town is between a mountain and the bay so there was some road noise. The man at the front desk was friendly. The town has a beautiful bay.

Nice Surprise

I enjoyed the Aberdeen Motel. The bed was comfortable, the room was nice.  I loved that there was a table in the room and a laundry on site.  I met Isaac, the owner and he was so helpful and kind.  The motel is right off the road and easy to find.  This is a great place to stay.

Comfortable nice clean place

We stayed at the Aberdeen Motel for one night, and after an hour we were very kindly received. The room was large and clean, the price was super cheap. Breakfast and dinner can be found in Charlene's restaurant a few kilometers down the street.
