Well stopped at The Grove $165 for night. The cottage was ok and everything was very old including the floor coverings. I suppose if you like this type of accommodation then it’s good but for me it just did not tick my boxes. The old newspapers were interesting reading the Wifi was great and the cook your own breakfast was nice. The toilet had No roof in other words was not fully enclosed and I thought this was very different. 

Very Old Needs an update. 

A wonderful surprise to find The Grove (Cottage), welcomed warmly and provided with provisions for a great breakfast. Bacon, eggs, toast, juice, milk, cereals, croissants etc.

Two adults two teenagers in the two bedroom cottage (kids had own tv in their room), quirky set out and items within but it was extremely comfortable and very cosy. Beds were comfortable, sheets and towels where top quality and lovely and fresh.

Very well stocked kitchen, plenty of dvds, books and local information.

Owner was very lovely, brought our breakfast items in, had a chat and then left us be.. 

Gardens could do with some TCL as could the entrance to the cottage and "reception" but over all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would have liked to stay longer.

Homely, Great value for money, Kid friendly

This is a one bedroom, plus one spare single bed (in lounge room), compact bathroom and compact kitchen, accommodation.  
This accommodation is one of two, separate from a lovely historic building close to central George Town.
Nanna's room is the smaller of the two accommodation options.  It is homely and surprisingly quiet.  Nicknacks adorn the place, likewise an abundance of board games and DVDs. As the place is dog friendly, open a bedroom cupboard door and there is a dog bowl and mat. 
Another cupboard reveals a bathrobe and slippers for two footed guests.
Kitchen cupboards contain all manner of cooking equipment.  Included in the kitchenette is a bar fridge, microwave, sink and infection place.
Breakfast provisions included were bacon and eggs, sliced bread options, cereal, apple, juice, milk, apples......
So much on offer overall here, maybe an overload for a two-night stay, but who's complaining?  
Heating was great with the heat pump going, I never felt cold despite unseasonably gale force conditions outside.  The Tv was easy to use.
The internal walls and ceilings, plus kitchenette and bathroom walls, are all modern plantation pine which is a shame given the ambience, nicknacks, and furnishings of the place aim towards Nanna's place aiming for an old fashion feel.  
The bathroom off the bedroom is modest but very clean, it includes shower provisions, Kleenex, and a heated towel rail.
Hovering to give 4 stars but gave 5 stars because of (in no particular order) host's effort to include more than enough provisions and extras, cleanliness, location and great value for money.
Definitely would return again if coming again to George Town.

Nanna's room

The eclectic furnishings tell the history of the building, and the founding of Australia's 3rd settlement in 1805.  Bed was comfortable,  Shower and bath fine.  Off street parking.  Short drive to the few restaurants in Georgetown.

Lounge room and separate bedroom packed with furniture and knic knacs

Lovely and clean accommodation. If you want high end modern accomodation, book somewhere else. If you want cosy, bring back memories then The Grove is the place for you.with breakfast provisions ready to go this is the place to book in George Town, Tasmania.

It’s like staying at my Auntys house. Made the best of it and the beds are very comfortable. Best breakfast on our trip
