I have been staying at this small vintage hotel for over 10 years.  I am always greeted with a warm smile and kind words.  The rooms are spacious and a great value during the antique shows.   Very conveniently located.

My go to place during Antique Show

Dead flies scattered over entire window sill. Dead fly on chair. Flies flying in room. Bugs crawling on mattress. Toilet with urine splattered underneath seat. Large cracks and holes in bathroom tile. Thick dust on top of refrigerator under microwave. Smelled like it had been sprayed to cover up filth. Lobby hot, stuffy, smelled like an Asian Indian restaurant. A large cock roach crawled across the floor. Checked in, checked out.

Bugs & Filth

The photos and reviews are kind to this motel. The room is old and needed paint and work. The bed was OK. Room seemed clean enough but was very tired and needed a rehab. Motel dates back to before the hwy 71 bypass was built. I think this motel's days are numbered. 

Tolerable, but tired.

Caught a room at the last minute as it was getting late.  The 2 stars is a little generous.  There must be some renovated rooms to account for the good reviews but mine  was the type where you want to keep your shoes on.  It was reasonably clean but had old grounds in the coffeemaker and thin worn towels.  The a/c worked well.  Stains in all the plumbing fixtures.  Not a good place for a family or females, unless I just got an old room that’s hopefully on the list for updating.  It’s ok if like me you just need the bare essentials. 

Late night last resort...

I stayed here with a friend while visiting family in La Grange.  We felt safe on the property even coming in after dark.  The room was clean and quiet. The family that runs the motel were very nice and accommodating.  There was a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee pot in the room.  The beds were firm, but we slept very well on them.  I would stay here again.

Clean Older Motel

Room was clean and staff very friendly. Would stay again. We had a room with firm beds and we loved them. Bathroom was clean as well. Was a quiet stay. No hair dryer available. Refrigerator and microwave in room.

Note , of course this is not a luxury accommodation - however it was what I myself look for when traveling, inexpensive , basically neat and clean,  fresh clean bed , working air conditioning , water pressure and hot water , plus also had a mini fridge and microwave.

This is what i look for 

I needed a place to stay and Cottonwood Inn was the place!! Friendly people and the price was fabulous. I had my toy poodle with me and the staff was very accommodating for me and my dog. I highly recommend this place to anyone who passes through La Grange and needs a place to stay!  Thank you for making my stay a memorable one!

Great Prices and Awesome Experience

The staff was very friendly, the room was clean.  No problem with any of the plumbing, A/C, appliances, etc.  Reasonable price.
Nothing fancy, but a comfortable stay in a vintage style motel.
No water in pool, but we weren't swimming this time of year anyway.
