Fantastic location. Clean room. No problems, great place to stay. Loved sitting directly in front of the river and ocean for views right out of our windows. We enjoyed our stay immensely and walked along Marginal Way. The ocean path was right outside our day.

We count our annual trip to Ogunquit and annual "must" and the Marginal Way House as the only place we'll stay. We had been staying in the cottage but this winter's storms damaged it so that it had to be torn down. Fingers crossed that the new cottage will be ready for our already booked stay next spring. Because the cottage was no more, the owner booked us into the DockHouse. While not as charming as the cottage, we still enjoyed our stay, especially the balcony with it's view of the estuary and ocean. The staff is always friendly, the housekeeping staff is efficient and the location is perfect, whether you walk to the beach, restaurants and shops or walk the Marginal Way to Perkins Cove. We wished there was a microwave in the room so that we could reheat restaurant leftovers, but that is our only request. We're already looking forward to next year.

We've been visiting The Marginal Way House for more than 30 yrs., and it never disappoints us. The accommodations provide comfort, spectacular views and easy access to shops, restaurants and inspiring cultural experiences. This is a yearly  sojourn that offers us an opportunity to reconnect with ourselves and endearing values.

Very relaxing experience as usual. Office staff very helpful. 
Although I understand the need for durable beach furniture in the room, a more comfortable ‘easy’ chair would be greatly appreciated by us fall guests.

Excellent.  Well managed, staff very friendly, attentive and available.  Great locations to walk everwhere you need to go.  Quiet and off main street.  Close to great restaurants.  Nice town with friendly people.

Very clean and comfortable room with not only a kitchenette but fantastic ocean view. Close to town was definitely a plus/quick walk back to drop packages off and start all over again!!! Breakfast in the room and coffee Oceanside so nice

We stayed in the two room suite. It was absolutely beautiful and so comfortable!  Can’t wait to stay there again next year!

The view of the ocean was spectacular and so close to the Marginal Way. We enjoyed waking up and walking on the beach as the sun was coming up. 

The Marginal Way House is quite special.  We had not been back to Ogunquit in more than 50 years and were so glad we chose the MWH.  Our room was large and comfortable, with an outstanding shower and small fridge for breakfast yogurt and beer. The ocean view was amazing; we did not know about the daily tides in the estuary and were  fascinated.  We did take few car excursions for walks and bike rides, but otherwise walked the Marginal Way to Perkins Cove (do not miss the seasonal Ogunquit Museum of American Art there), ate in town, and walked on the beach. Yes, the parking lot is tight, but everyone fits in.  Morning coffee is great; breakfast would be even better.  But we'll be back.

Wonderful place! it was above and beyond our expectations. Beautiful scenery! beautiful room.! Delicious coffee in the morning! 5 minute walk to many great shops and restaurants. We want to go back every year.

There is nothing I dislike about the Marginal Way House. My family and I go back year after year. The staff is amazing, the views are incredible, and the location is perfect and extremely walkable. I highly recommend the Marginal Way House!

A perfect place to stay in every imaginable way.  Prime location in the heart of a thriving small town, a beautiful main house and nearby companion buildings, extremely comfortable and tasteful decor,  stunning views of the ocean and its dramatic tides, and, not least, a heavenly morning coffee service on the porch of the main house with delicious coffee.

We love the Marginal Way House. Laura was so kind to us while we navigated the pandemic and made sure that we were able to keep our bookings in order to (gratefully) return this past September. The location is perfect for walking to the village and also the beach. Our room is so clean and comfortable…we sleep better in OGT than at home, which is not surprising as the whole experience is so incredibly relaxing and restorative. Ben does an amazing job on the gardens and grounds. Just beautiful. We can’t wait to come back again next year. Thank you to Laura and the Marginal Way House team.

We just returned from our stay at the Marginal Way House Hotel in Ogunquit! This place is absolutely perfect in every way! The rooms are spotless and have stunning views. The bed was super comfortable ( I meant to ask where I can buy one!!) 😁 You can walk to many restaurants/shops, and of course, the Marginal Way walkway. The off-street, reserved parking is also a plus! We will definitely stay here again on our next visit!

Wonderful Place for Our Mother/Daughter Getaway

We have stayed at the Marginal Way House a couple of times and is now our top choice of accommodations in Ogunquit. The rooms are all well appointed, very clean, and the views are gorgeous. This time we stayed on the second floor of the Dockside building and absolutely loved staying right on the edge of the ocean. We sat out on the deck as much as possible, taking in the views and the ocean air. The location is extremely central to the little downtown area and only a few minute walk from the start of the marginal way walk. The staff is also super nicer and helpful. 

Beautiful views in a great location

We have stayed at the Marginal Way House for 49 years,it is our favourite place in Ogunquit due to its location ,The view  from the lawn is splendid and it is only a short walk into the town. The place has been refurbished very tastefully. Laura and her staff make our visit most enjoyable. She is a delight! Her warmth combined with her efficiency, competence  and strong interpersonal skills make it a pleasure to stay at the Marginal Way House year after year. The flowers lovingly cared for by Ben make the garden a visual delight. As well, we appreciate Leona and  Allan and their good service.
Our only suggestion would be to provide more foot stools for the existing lawn chairs and perhaps add a few  lounge chairs and that are more comfortable and a few extra lawn umbrellas!

Always a pleasurable stay

What can I say beyond WOW!  I have stayed many places in Ogunquit over the past thirty years but truly the Marginal Way House is my favorite. The room was beautifully decorated. I loved the little chandelier’s which you wouldn’t expect to see in your room. Very classy. We had an awesome view of the beach directly across from us. Did I mention the shower it was so
spacious, wish I could take it home. The flowers in the yard and Adirondack chairs provide a beautiful and comfortable view of the ocean in front of you. It took us 1 minute to walk to downtown. Fabulous shopping and restaurants. Take my advice if your lucky enough to get a reservation do it. I promise you won’t regret it.

Amazing memories that will last a lifetime!

Nice, very clean  hotel overlooking water. Walking distance to everything i.e. Perkins Cove, Marginal Way and restaurants. The room was very pretty and the bathroom was immaculate. We were on the 3rd floor which were very steep stairs ( 2 flights that curved). This was manageable for us but if you have any physical limitations I would ask which floor you will be on. It may be difficult for some to carry luggage up the 2 flights. The hotel did not offer free coffee due to the pandemic. It was very difficult to find coffee places open while we were there. Maybe the hotel could have it on an outside table on the covered  porch.
