Beautiful location with very friendly staff

Lovely old property,just in the right location for us. Breakfast very good and I was particularly pleased with the way they dealt with my dairy intolerance.

Amazing service, wonderful room and delicious food

First time to Eckington Manor and we were very impressed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They managed to squeeze us in to the restaurant on Saturday for our anniversary despite not booking beforehand.Will be going back.

We have been visiting Eckington Manor for over 9 years now, before Mark (head chef) won Professional Masterchef!  Judy and her excellent team has always maintained outstanding standards of hospitality in accommodation…and dining!  Mark has now returned as head chef, and we are so happy.  Last night’s “Valentine’s meal” was amazing.  We’re excited to learn there are new events on the horizon to expand the appeal.  Can’t wait!  Thank you all…Judy, Jane, Tracey, Matt, Mark & Sue.. and the 2 lovely well trained waitresses, for making our wedding anniversary special.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent.  We were given gift vouchers as a present and being someone who has food intolerance, one always wonders how well a place can cater for me. However, the waiting staff went out of their way to explain what I could eat off the menu and what the chefs would do, to go above and beyond to cater for me in addition to the menu. It was a special yet relaxed night with family. The staff added to our lovely experience and compliments to  the chefs.

Amazing manor hotel and restaurant. Lovely remote location but worth the trip. Nice local village and plenty of walking areas. Room was amazing with luxury facilities and comfy bed. Restaurant was top notch with great quality and service. Highly recommend

The staff were very welcoming, the service was great, food was amazing and our room was very nice, warm, the bed was very comfy.we stayed with the midweek getaway, which coincidentally was our 25th wedding Anniversary we were shown to our room which was lovely then over to the bar where we were given a glass of prosecco on arrival, we had a couple of drinks in the bar before being show to the restaurant when we had a delicious Two course meal, very simple breakfast of poached eggs in the morning but again very tasty, they make their own bread too, first time visit, will definitely go again.

Outstanding as always…and we’re excited to learn there are new events on the horizon to expand the appeal.  Can’t wait!

Excellent meal with detailed attention to specific requirements.

3rd time we’ve been on a one night stay. As a couple with a small dog we struggle to find good accommodation like this in a nice area. 

Lovely room in the dairy. Ideal with doggy as can access the outside easy as it’s on the ground floor and has access to car park straight out of the door, and walks for doggy through the village down to the river.  The room is very clean and served all our needs. Beautiful white crisp bedding, comfy bed and a refreshments area with kettle. The rain shower was lovely with complementary shampoos and soaps, which you can purchase.  Quality white fluffy towels provided. 
We opted for BB and evening meal in a deal that gave us a 2 course dinner. We have stayed before and were again not disappointed. The food is really good, home made bread and a small menu but adequate.  Everything cooked to perfection. You can opt for a tasting menu but for us it was a one night stay after a 2 hr journey so 2 courses were adequate.  The ambience in the restaurant is not fancy but quite intimate and pleasing. The restaurant looked full on our visit and people travel to come here. 
Breakfast offered a reasonable simple selection of hot and cold food. We had poached eggs on toast which was presented a little plain but beautifully cooked, the option of avocado would have been nice.  I would have liked an option of preserves with the additional toast but they were not on the menu. They were kind to give us a sausage to take back for our doggy.  
We really like this place and will certainly come again when we need to be in the area. The staff are lovely and it’s a family friendly type of place. There is a cooking school attached which I am thinking of trying one of their day 
courses that are offered  throughout the year. 
Overall a really nice place to stay and as we need to visit the area at least once a year we will definitely return.

Great food and accommodation

25th wedding Anniversary, mid week getaway.        wee

We booked Luxury Room using Tesco Vouchers. Room was gorgeous! Lovely big tv, original features, tea/coffee making facility, topped up during day. Reception is in the new building, restaurant upstairs and small bar downstairs. We ate the 3 course dinner and cooked breakfast, food was delicious! Staff are so friendly, great stay would come again.

Following a warm and friendly welcome by the proprietor Judy, we were welcomed into the bar for a pre dinner drink and a chance to peruse the menus. Matt served us our pre dinner drinks and assured us that they would be as flexible as possible re the menus. We had a delicious 3 course Christmas meal, with excellent wines. Couldn’t fault it. Great staff, great food and drink! We will be back!

First time, but definitely not the last!

Overall very nice.  Friendly welcoming staff, room was very nice, lovely shower and bathroom. The room was very nicely styled with some nice touches.  Lovely breakfast (was surprised to be charged extra for a cappuccino / but it was nice at least).The bed was the only thing that could have been better it was one of the join together type beds and could feel the join through the bedding.Overall, a very nice stay and would certainly stay again.

This is a very nice place to stay, the rooms, especially those in the out building over looking the farm are full of charm (and beams) and are very comfy. The food is of a very good standard and the restaurant is very welcoming and is very nice. its an easy walk into the village from here as well. Its not cheap but its not expensive for the quality. Lovely place and will go back

Lovely location and good food

We enjoyed a wonderful 2 night stay here . The staff were so friendly and very helpful . Breakfast was adequate but we didn’t eat the evening meal here so can’t comment on that . We were very impressed with the standard of cleanliness which is very important to us 
Why didn’t I give my review a 5 ? 
Solely because of very minor but important issues with the room 
On entering there was a huge open area with a table and two tub chairs in the corner all very dark as the wood walls are also dark . This area felt redundant and similar to a waiting room. There was a small wardrobe adequate for one person only  . There was nowhere to sit and dry hair with a mirror  etc  or some kind of shelf to put smaller items 
That area could have one or two comfy chairs and a shelved area with a mirror for this . There was an electric stove in the space which is only for decor so that was redundant  This  whole area could be a lighter cheerier place to sit   However because the staff were so hospitable and cleanliness was high and such pleasant surroundings we would most definitely stay here again 

Wonderful Location

We had a lovely anniversary overnight stay. It’s almost 5 star but not quite. The things that let it down is uncomfortable outside seating eg a few cushions would be nice. I would have liked a full bathroom eg I like to relax in a bath not just a shower. Plus only one packet of biscuits for 2 people seems a bit tight. Plus the bar doesn’t open til 3 so we drove off to a local pub. Being able to park up and have a lunchtime drink would have been nice. 

However there are lots of positives. The welcome by Tracy was excellent. She works extremely hard and is very good at her job. The room was lovely, very quirky, a bath would have made it perfect. The bar and waiting staff are excellent. We had the 7 course tasting menu and we each had slightly different ones due to dietary requirements so that was really nice. The food was outstanding. 

I would definitely return and if my criticisms were taken on board I would give 5 stars.
