Great guest house with friendly staff and good service. Lovely breakfast and great location

Our recent stay at Dene House was most enjoyable. We arrived a couple of hours before check-in but went in to ask the host if it was ok to park the car. We were invited to check in immediately. A house key and room key allow people to come and go as they please. 

The family run establishment is kept to a very high standard. Many old features of the house have been maintained to preserve its character, yet the modern touches blend perfectly. 

We had the king room which was spacious, clean and comfortable. Usual amenities of private bathroom with toiletries, tea/coffee, hairdryer were supplemented with iron and ironing board, small fridge and wine glasses. 

Breakfast was pre-order and at a set time for each room. This might not suit everyone but I’m sure the hosts would have accommodated any reasonable request. It suited us just fine on this occasion. The dining room is well organised with room numbers as your table guide. There’s a good choice of fruit and cereal to self select and the cooked choices were well presented, served hot on hot plates (always a plus in my books!) by the hosts. Individual choices were perfectly presented. 

It is easy to see why this lovely place has a top rating by its visitors. Thank you Hai and Lan, we would definitely visit again.

All I can say is wow, this place was amazing another perfect 10 out 10 stay.  Every aspect of this place is fantastic.  It is a very easy walk to the lake and town centre.

We had room 1 which is downstairs and apparently the biggest room here.  It was really large and comfortable.  A king bed that was so comfortable.  The two nice chairs by the bay window were a favourite of mine.  

The room had a little fridge, tea and coffee facilities and the complimentary cookies they leave for you were really nice.  The shower was really good, with nice hot water and good pressures.

Breakfast was delicious with a full cooked English breakfast with all the trimmings.  There is also fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal and fresh juice to choose from.

There is absolutely nothing at all negative about this place.  We loved it.

Han who runs this place is so lovely and goes out of his way to make sure your stay is perfect.

This B&B has it all: great location, reasonable rates, and friendly owners. Even though it's on a fairly busy road, it is extremely quiet. My wife and I are vegan, and we were so grateful that the owners could accommodate our diet. And if you're traveling by car, there is plenty of off-street parking. 

Easy check in. Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. Nice location to walk into the centre and added bonus of on site parking so less stress for trip. Breakfast was good quality.

Excellent reception and welcome,  very friendly and the rooms are fabulous.  Breakfast had great choices and is delicious.  We can't fault this place and it's great location is why we keep going back there.

Stayed at Dene House for two nights whilst visiting the Lake district. Wonderful hosts. Beautiful double room with all you could ask for. Breakfast was lovely- had a full English the first morning, and boiled eggs and toast the next- cannot fault the service and the breakfasts on both mornings were delicious. Dene House is situated within a short distance from Windermere, easily walkable and close to shops, restaurants and pubs. Will definitely visit again!

My husband and I have just returned from a 4 day break for our wedding anniversary.

We stayed here at this fabulous place 4 years ago.

Wonderful hosts they will go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable.

The room again was spotlessly clean, comfy bed and quiet location away from the hustle and bustle.

Fridge in room to chill wine/beers which was great when we got back late afternoon after a long day going places.

Short walk to centre.

Yorkshire Dales not far away to visit beautiful countryside.

The Riva Cafe Italian is fabulous food.

The Ship Inn for a light lunch or meal, also boaters for a drink and great live music on the weekends.

So much to see and do.

We will be back soon Hai & Lan again for sure.

Friendly hosts with efficient service Lovely fresh breakfast -  working distance from amenities + parking on site etc Only negative for is was the room bed etc was  not made up daily ( we were in here six nights in total  ) and other places we have stayed do this. We did however  get fresh sheets and towels part way through our stay Which was  appreciated -  thank you  an overall excellent stay

First visit back to Dene House , since 2016, and as always and how we remembered by myself and my wife, just the same warm and welcoming feel ,after on this occasion, a nightmare journey from Lancashire to get to Bowness, i will avoid the M6 in future 

Room 5 was welcoming, comfortable, and big.

Breakfasts  was excellent, top service as per usual. 

Not a lot more to say , but ,we will be back 

Short Weekend break

Dene House was an excellent guest house to stay in. The room was spacious, very clean, with a comfortable bed, mini fridge and ironing board. The guest house is in peaceful surroundings, with table and chairs outside and parking, and it took 5 minutes walk to the centre of town. The staff were all lovely, and breakfast options were given the night before. We would definitely stay again.

Excellent B & B

Stayed at dene house for a weekend in March. 
We were in room 5 on the top floor. 
Room had iron, ironing board, tea/coffee facilities, tv, en-suite shower, wardrobe and plenty of draw space. Bonus was a hairdryer in the draw. 
Bed comfy, room temperature was good, enough space for 2 people
Breakfast was a buffet choice of cereal, fruit and juices plus a full breakfast which was cooked to your liking, which was brought to your table. 
Added bonus was the parking. 
2 minutes Walking distance to the nearest pubs and restaurants 
10 mins walk to marina for any boat trips.

Bowness weekend

Ideally located very close to the village centre, with a desperately needed car park. Parking in Bowness can be a nightmare.
Hai and Lan are the perfect hosts, extremely polite, warm and very welcoming.
The breakfasts plentiful and very tasty. The hotel/guest house, is spotlessly clean.
Would definitely return, and can recommend highly for others.
