The place is unique in my opinion because of a personal touch, attention to details and amazing people working there. I stayed twice in The Spice Ship with my partner, while we're working in the area. There is also a restaurant with very good food. I don't want to stay anywhere else now.

Lovely cosy and comfy room, nice extra touches, and great breakfast.

This has to be one of the best rooms I have stayed in for a while. And puts some of the major luxury hotels to shame. I stayed in the 'Portland' room which is very quirky and well equipped.  Lots of nice touches like hot chocolate. biscuits, bath robes and slippers and a fully equipped kitchen with dining area and a comfortable sofa.  It even had a washing machine !The rooms are next the pub which does great food and a nice breakfast. The staff are very friendly.Thanks.A wonderful stay.

What a great character place to stay for a couple of nights. Beautifully refurbished rooms and quiet even though close to a road.  The inclusive breakfast was excellent with cereal, bread/toast, a selection of jams and a choice of hot food brought to you fresh and of course unlimited tea/coffee.  All for a similar price to Premier Inn (no competition)

excellent stay at The Spice Ship, all staff very friendly , good value for money and rooms all newly refurbed and so comfortable.  Little touches like fresh clean white towels, robe, slippers felt more like a 4* hotel!! highly recommend and will be returning!

Check in was quick and easy and the room was wonderful. The attentional to detail really made the room. Lovely new bathroom, comfy bed and bedding. Cleanliness was outstanding. Loved the tray in the bed and they had thought of everything. 

We had breakfast in the morning which was outstanding  food was lovely and hot, well presented and served quickly.

Would definitely recommend.

Only criticism is, when arrived was not clear where to check in and took a while for barman to acknowledge us.

The staff were fantastic and super friendly. We will defo be returning. The locals also made us feel at home. Thank you Maria and Andy

Fantastic Stay

Beautiful room and great breakfast

What a lovely pub just on the edge of the Haven Weymouth Bay holiday park. We were a huge group approx 60 of us including the children and dogs. Food looked amazing and the staff were great. 

Football was on as well which was a bonus! 

The play area was good for the children.
Drink selection was good!

Hidden gem

We were recommended to eat at The Spice Ship and were not disappointed. Friendly staff, an excellent menu all at competitive prices, and really tasty food. Served perfectly timed (neither too quick or too slow). We stayed in Weymouth for 4 nights and ate there twice. Both times brilliant, and would have no hesitation recommending it.

Great menu; great food; great value

Lovely friendly staff, and comfortable room and bed, although the windows were very drafty, alright in the summer, not so for a winter stay. The shower cubical was very small in our room. We are not the smallest in size, but we could not turn around in the shower, with about an inch between the shower tap and the narrow sliding doors, made for a very interesting showering experience.The room it self did not have much space between the walls and the bed, but that is because of the building and that cannot be changed, Just do not take to much luggage. There were very few channels on the TV when arrived, we and the owner tried to retune it a couple of times, but by the next day we had no channels at all, and was told it was because it was on a different signal than the 5 or 6 TVs in the bar area showing sports and were told nothing could be done about it. We had no TV for the whole  3 night stay. Not so bad for us, but if you had children needing to be entertained before bed time, it could be annoying. We had a lovely Sunday roast on the day we arrived, that was still available up to 6 in the evening. The breakfast menu had a good selection of cereals and cooked food. There were lots of people eating in the bar area throughout the day and evening, with a lovely atmosphere, very dog friendly. Plenty of spirits behind the bar and wondering around in the night, it is reported to be the second most haunted place in Weymouth.

Lovely friendly place to stay.

Wasn't sure what to expect when I booked the room at the spice ship due to it being part of a pub. But was pleasantly surprised. The service was really good, staff were really friendly and accommodating, and to top it off the food was tasty. They even offered a continental breakfast to be dropped outside the door because I was leaving before breakfast started in the morning.

Great service

Easy to reserve, had variety with burgers, British classics and variety of meat. Little variety of desert however was made up with exceptional customer service with each member of staff showing a personality. Great value for money that allows people to dine at the pub along with daily customers that just want to drink and watch sport. However had 1 bad chicken nugget.

Great for any occasion

We stayed at the Spice ship for one night, room was compact but beautifully decorated. Lovely comfortable bed and immaculate bedding. The rooms have clearly been upgraded to a very high standard. There was noise from the road outside but earplugs were provided and after a long and eventful day it didn’t bother us. The breakfast was very good and all the staff were efficient and helpful. We hope to return again next year.

Beautiful room, excellent breakfast 

I visited with my family, such a great pub, friendly staff. The food was delicious. The beer garden and the children’s play area was a hit! The menu was varied and prices were reasonable. Thanks, we will definitely be returning. Five star!
