We have been here twice, once for drinks and once for food. The staff and patrons are incredibly friendly and welcoming
The roast dinner was really very good. Home cooked, great portions. Beer garden is a sun trap. Superb, how pubs should be. 

Tavistock bunkhouse was just what we needed.  The accommodation was basic, clean and very well designed.  In the four bedroomed rooms there were curtained off sections for added privacy.  There was an amazing bakery down the road which served amazing sandwiches.  We didn’t have enough time to explore but we plan to go back and will definitely stay at the bunk house again.

We stayed at the bunkhouse for one night over the May bank holiday and were really impressed. The bunkhouse was immaculately clean, with wonderfully comfortable beds. The room we stayed in had 4 bunk beds with each being cleverly separated by a wall and curtains for privacy. Everything we needed was provided - including hot showers, soft clean towels, and free tea and coffee. We had drinks in the union inn and the staff and customers alike were welcoming and friendly. There was live music on and the atmosphere was great. We also had breakfast the next morning (which was delicious) and I'd be surprised if you would be able to find better quality and value for money anywhere else for eating out. I would happily recommend this as a great place to stay for solo travellers, couples, groups of friends and families. Thank you to Val, Cath and the rest of the union inn team for a great stay. We will definitely be back!

We, wife, daughter and myself, booked into the bunkhouse as  - how bad could it be for only £20 each a night?
So glad we did, staff were really friendly, pub/reception on a Saturday early evening had a comfortable and safe feeling atmosphere. We were able to order an "all day breakfast" on a pick and mix basis choosing exactly what you fancy and paying for such.
The bunkhouse was extremely clean with secure access and our room even cleaner, warm and welcoming and the beds were so, so comfortable.
On Sunday we had Sunday lunch, served with Beef and Roasties on the plates but separate serving dishes full of Veg. The best value Sunday lunch ever, you could pay 3 times as much and it wouldn't compare.
Well done The Union Inn Bunkhouse, we will be back when you next have availability.

After a long hike at Dartmoor, I arrived at The bunkhouse. I was helped directly by the lady at the bar. The beds sleep very well, the showers and toilets are good. But it can get crowdy at the pub, with the necessery noise. In the morning there was a very good english breakfast ready at 08:30. Witch i booked at arrival. Overall a very nice place in a very nice town!

Arrived at about 9pm, checked in at the pub adjacent. Poor 4G signal in the rooms but friendly staff let me sit in the pub to get my internet stuff done, and end of the day meant cheap pints too which was very nice. I had the bunkhouse to myself - very comfortable too. Shower tokens allowed plenty of time for body and hair wash. Tea, coffee, milk and sugar provided with a kettle and sink in shared area - seating outside in the pub patio area. Parking space provided right next to the bunkhouse - suitable for motorcycles, or probably 2 cars. 

Two plugs per bed - one for a light and one free to use. Drying room within bunkhouse for clothes, towels, etc.
