The Swan Hotel

staff were welcoming and polite, room was spacious and clean.  bar/restaurant was also good.  Break fast was also very good quality.  Nothing to fault really but if I had to pick a fault I would say there was a lack of vegan options.  stayed in many 4 star hotels nowhere near as good.

A lovely pub/hotel with great rooms and fabulous staff. It is perfectly located in the centre of Alresford . We stayed in room 20 which had a four poster comfy bed , a free standing tub in the bedroom and a lovely shower. The breakfast we had was top quality and delicious. 

It was our fourth visit and we will be back.

For the fourth year on the trot our region of the Sunbeam Talbot Alpine Register held its annual lunch at The Swan Hotel. As usual some stayed over for the night. The welcome, lunch organisation, service and food were all first class. Every staff member friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and everything works. The breakfast is good. For those that enjoy real ale the well stocked bar includes that as well. Really, nothing not to like. We shall certainly be back again for our lunch next year.

Had a good experience here, it exceeded my expectations for a 3* hotel at this price. The room was clean, breakfast was tasty and the staff was very friendly and its in a good location with walkable amenities.  Would definitely recommend.  

Nice experience at check in. Efficient and friendly. Clean comfortable room. For a DeLuxe Room, I miss Iron and Ironing Board. They possibly have if requested. Did not have evening meal this time but I know it is good. I am a very frequent traveller. Breakfast on this occasion was excellent. The Hotel is central, in a nice town and within  very easy walk of a couple of pubs and several eating options. Recommended. 

Beautiful old pub/hotel in gorgeous country town.
Zig zag stairs. Comfortable beds in well equipped rooms. Good food and really great friendly staff. 
Welcomed and treated like valued guests. Good car parking and a well kept clean place right in the heart of town. Well done.

One tiny problem - the bed was the squeakiest bed in the world, - I think it needs its joints tightening! It was a bit like a comedy sketch !!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, quite possibly the easiest check in I’ve ever experienced! Staff were friendly and helpful, room was lovely and homely and a lovely breakfast cooked to order in the morning. Alresford is such a beautiful town and would happily return to this hotel - great location right in centre of Alresford with lovely places to eat and various walkable pubs dotted around. Thanks for a great stay!

Comfortable, clean and quiet room at the back of the hotel in the newer part. Nice bathroom. We ate in the restaurant which was very reasonably priced. Breakfast was excellent. Hard working and friendly staff. Alresford is a lovely little town.

The room was as always Clean and Well Equipped with extra towels, toiletries, tea and coffee making station.
The Hotel could not be more central, it's at the heart of a lovely Ancient Hampshire  Market Town.
The Staff and the Hotel Facilities Consistently Very Good.

A lovely old hotel set in the centre of Alresford with interesting shops and handy to visit nearby places.
Our room was quiet, warm and comfortable with plenty of space.
The staff were very efficient and most friendly so made our stay that more pleasant. The food was tasty with a good choice on the dinner menu and the breakfasts excellent.
We would certainly stay again when in this nice area.

Really lovely stay

Stayed here for New Years Eve special.  Lovely hotel,  great accommodation with plenty of room and a very nice bathroom.   Only problem,  not really a criticism,  was the hot water was extremely hot, be careful in the shower!  Room was lovely and warm and cosy, bedding ight and warm.
NYE dinner was superb.  4 delicious courses plus prosecco to start, and more than ample  servings.  We didn't want entertainment,  just a lovely meal in the company of friends, in a happy atmosphere,  which is exactly what we got.  Thank you to all the staff we met, they were all cheerful and friendly, and helped to make it a very pleasant stay.a

A special evening

Stayed for one night as a family of 3 after visiting the Watercress Line Steam Illuminations. 
Fantastic hotel, great choice of meals for dinner, good kids menu, nice range of drinks, and lovely friendly staff. 
The bedrooms were comfortable. We had a family room which comprised of a king sized bed with en-suite, and a twin bedded room. Both rooms had TVs, and the shower was great! 
Breakfast was incredible! My husband had Eggs Royale, I had The Watercress breakfast (full vegetarian English with halloumi) and our son had continental with a side of sausages and bacon! Great breakfast.
The car park is small, but given the hotel is right on the high street and a 5min walk to The Watercress Line, you couldn’t get a better location!

The room was very comfortable and in very good condition. The only down side with the room was that there was not enough light. The main light must have been a 40 watt bulb and there was no light on the dressing table so you could not see in the mirror properly. The down lights in the bathroom are in the wrong place so again there was poor light on to the bathroom mirror.
We asked at reception if a table light could be got to add light to the room and they said one would be put into the room but it never appeared.

Short stay

spacious and clean

Room in annexe overlooking car park was clean with comfortable beds. Room heating easily controlled and windows could be opened for fresh air. Staff friendly and helpful, breakfast good. Only drawback was not being able to find a space in hotel car park until 10.30pm when restaurant guests had left.
