Just celebrated our sons wedding at the Falcon hotel with 80 guests amazing food and service Dan and his team work tirelessly to make sure everything goes smoothly our room was very comfy with lovely views of the church and countryside breakfast very nice perfect spot for visitors to explore the  cotswolds  would definitely recommend a visit you won't be disappointed 😊 ps ask about the local legend mystery regarding the 99 yew trees in the church grounds.

Visited on Mothers Day as a walk in.

The Falcon was busy but we were seated quickly and the ambiance was lovely.

The host/ waiter was extremely busy, seemed to be on his own but nonetheless very friendly and took our orders and let us know to help ourselves to juices from the buffet, which was very nice & saved time waiting.

I ordered a bacon and egg bap and my other half a full English. Disappointingly they had run out of baps and I was offered a muffin, so opted for eggs Benedict instead and the waiter aid they’d swap the ham for bacon if I wanted and I really appreciated the effort made.

We didn’t wait an undue amount of time for food and when it arrived, the presentation was impeccable and the egg yolks were so vibrant. Taste wise, everything got eaten, and there was definitely a local food connection. Bacon was super tasty, hollandaise was really good. 

Definitely one that we would come back to eat at, really enjoyed the food and great service despite it being so busy.

Absolutely lovely apart from in the restaurant bar and dining area a horrible smell of drains which put me off having breakfast.

A lovely old hotel in a beautiful town.Ample parking and a warm welcome.The room was well equipped and the bed very comfy.The shower was electric, the water flow was only adequate.I had dinner which was excellent, as was the real ale and the range of wines.The service was friendly but at times it was difficult to gain attention.

Housekeeper did a great job managing the up-keeping of our room.Staff friendly and helpful.

A delightful place to stay that was excellent value for money. Booked the deluxe room with breakfast , the room was lovely and cozy and had everything needed for a most comfortable stay, a very comfy bed with great pillows! The breakfast was fantastic and had a great choice available, we chose the veggie breakfast which was excellent, the cappuccino coffee very good! The staff were lovely , nothing was any trouble, they work very hard to make everything run like clockwork. We had an evening meal and that was excellent. The village there is extremely pretty and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again when we go up that way again.

An excellent old inn in a beautiful old town. The food was very good but the offering of English wine wasn't up to the same standard. In keeping with the style of the building there are no lifts, be prepared to carry your luggage  to the third floor however, the staff did offer to help.

Although the hotel has no life and we were on the top floor, our bags were taken up to our room by the staff.  They were all very friendly and accommodating.

We really enjoyed our stay at the falcon, the food and the service were both excellent. We have already recommended it to several other others.

Lovely Mother’s Day Breakfast

A lovely 1 night stopover

Delightful place to stay.

Although we generally enjoyed our stay and the food was lovely the big minus for us was room 5  a roof right at the window so totally blocked any view three monstrosities of units paper peeling and still in a mix of woodchip and anaglypta tatty paint peeling window i have attached photos so hopefully someone will act £200 a night!! Furniture totalling 18 drawers leaving nowhere to sit just a little wobbly plastic make up stool who needs 18 no drawers for a couple of nights and downstairs was set up really for dining with only 2 armchairs mostly taken i would respectfully suggest getting rid of the units and keeping one and replacing with a couple of armchairs so people can relax and read so finally id say always ask to bypass room 5 there is great potential in this inn but sadly if room 5 is a typical room then a refubishment is needed

Grest staff but needs attention to rooms

A relaxing short stay at the Painswick Hotel.we have been to Painswick a number of times, so this was our first stay at The Painswick. Staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for us, to ensure our stay was a good one. The manager was extremely knowledgable and informative regarding Balfour Wines, which assistanced us greatly with our selection.

Staff were excellent, attentive and friendly. The room was comfortable as was the bed. English breakfast included was delicious and served quickly, customer service from the breakfast waitress was excellent.Evening meal again was really good. The only downside for me was a bit of road noise as I had a room at the front, the blind in the room let in a lot of sunlight very early in the morning and I couldn’t get normal TV channels on the TV( that may have been me not being able to work the complicated controls but all I could find was LG internet channels.) which was annoying to miss the Euros matches that evening.

Lovely stay at the Suite Balfour Brut Rose room. Very spacious. Luxurious feel, clean and the bed, beddings and mattress very very good, comfortable and clean. Full english breakfast also good. The roast dinner can be improved, taste-wise but overall we had a lovely stay. Thank you to the staffs who attended to us. Special mention to Hannah.

Every single element of the different dishes we sampled was cooked perfectly. The service was friendly, professional and swift. The restaurant is under relatively new management and they should be congratulated. Highly recommended, competitively priced, unpretentious and a delicious selection of dishes. Our experience contrasted dramatically with the poor offering and unfriendly atmosphere at the nearby bistro which should be avoided at all costs.

We have stayed here before but many years ago, the Falcon is under new ownership, the superior room was very charming. We had a good meal in the evening, found the wine prices quite pricey. I had trouble sleeping not helped by the church bells peeling throughout the night!! I love Painswick & the Falcon is a good choice if you don’t mind the sound of bells!
