Quaint, friendly little pub that’s looking very tired but the food is superb and great value for money. If you like a burger, loaded fries and similar… you can’t go wrong with The Ark House Inn.

Very friendly staff and very helpful and accommodating with food choices.

Wow, what a hidden gem! 💎 On turning up after booking via Google search, it left little to the imagination. The place could do with a little update, but the staff and the food certainly make up for it! Attentive, welcoming, and all left feeling full. #foodie #hiddengem #greatfood

A hidden gem. Dog friendly pub that we stopped in for lunch. Super friendly and welcoming staff. The food was delicious and the portions huge. Left well fed and will definitely be back next time we are in the area. Thank you 

Our first time in along time in Stranraer so I ask a friend for a recommendation.

The Ark house was recommended and it did not disappoint. On first glance you wouldn't think apparent from "auld man pub". If the place wasn't recommended I would have walked past it.

Staff were very friendly and assisted in helping me make a selection from a menu that all the food sounded amazing.

I had the hunter burger and my partner had the salt and pepper wrap with curry sauce. My wee boy had popcorn chicken.

The food was amazing and we all still stuffed 24 hrs later. Portion sizes are massive and the food is top notch.

Will definitely be back

Cracking food ,great service ,lovely staff all round smashing wee place ,beer was excellent visited with family for lunch ended staying for a few hours  roast dinner was out of this world ,kids meals were all brilliant, nothing was too much trouble for staff  a wee gem of a place

What a great wee find! Booked a last minute weekend away for my husband, dog, and I and found the ark house inn to be perfect for our needs. Service was second to none, and all the staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Both breakfast and dinners were amazing, and were huge portions, and very reasonable in price. I was slightly worried about the shared bathroom, however was pleasantly surprised as it was well maintained and very clean and never had an issue getting use of it. Bed was extremely comfortable and the hotel/pub restaurant is pet friendly :) it’s 5 minute walk to the huge beach and harbour and pier so would highly recommend and excellent value for dinner bed and breakfast!! 

This place is without a doubt one of best places I have stayed while working away. Foods outstanding. Bedrooms Are cosy and warm. WiFi is fast and the landlord Scott is a gentleman along with his team of staff. They go above and beyond. 

Fantastic place to stay and highly recommend the food when in Stranraer. 

Stayed here overnight to get the ferry to N.Ireland the next morning, and what a great choice of place to spend the night. A friendly place with a great host, couldn't do enough for us from carrying bags to the room to setting up a lovely spot for our breakfast in the morning, nevermind printing the ferry booking that we had forgotten. Great food, we had both an evening meal and breakfast here and both were great tasting and great value served with a great smile.
 We would highly recommend this place, oh and an extra thank you for the extra coleslaw ;). 

I missed my boat to Belfast and have my dog with me so I needed a very last minute place to stay and found this place. I'm so glad it takes dogs because other places around wouldn't take dogs. The bed is very comfortable. The other guests and staff where so friendly to me and the food was amazing to eat. It's a nice little cheap place to stay and it suits me and dog perfectly! So happy we got somewhere to stay last minute :)
