Self Service check in worked well.  Attractive well-appointed room.  Whitby is a most interesting town.  Guest House within a few minutes walk of bus and train stations, so convenient for those using public transport.  Would recommend Java Café for breakfast.

This is a lovely hotel. It uses auto check in and it’s very simple. You do get a parking permit so parking doesn’t cost you anything. You can drop your cases of before you find a space to park. The room is excellent with a four poster. Very clean and stylish. Great place to stay overall and near the town centre

This was a return trip for 2 nights and again still very high standards. Really clean, comfy and a beautiful room. Everything we needed. Lovely touches like fresh milk for drinks, a bottle of Prosecco, sweets, robes, slippers, a parking permit. Just everything we needed. 
Loving the drop off point at the back and key collection, worked really well.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, close to all local amenities. Doesn’t have a car park but there is a permit provided for local on street parking or there are pay and display car parks near by. Though the hotel doesn’t provide breakfast there are a number of cafes and bars near by that do and they’re all reasonably priced. Sam was lovely and made sure we had everything we needed. The only downside I found was that the mattress was extremely firm and I didn’t get the best sleep but this was a me problem and not a hotel problem. 10/10 would stay here again. 

Excellent weekend at the white linen guest house. Spotlessly clean throughout.Sam the manageress was very helpful in every way possible. Location is spot on in regard to access to all pub’s, restaurants and bars, being in a level / flat area with good access  to bus and taxi service.

It’s recently changed ownership and it was big shoes to fill as the old owners were fantastic, couldn’t do enough for you.

Thankfully, Samantha, the new owner is equally as accommodating. Always checking if we required anything to make our stay even better. 

A very nice touch leaving us a card and bottle of Prosecco to welcome. This is just why White Linen will always be our choice of stay in Whitby.

The rooms are lovely too, always clean and everything you need.

Room only facilities were exactly as described on the website. Beautifully decorated, warm, comfortable, quiet room. Lots of luxury products including bathrobe, slippers, a great coffee making machine and small fridge for fresh milk and refreshments. Excellent location. Parking permit provided although we found free street parking. Hosts were very welcoming and kept in contact to see everything was OK. Comprehensive folder provided in the room with suggestions of where to eat, visit etc. A perfect weekend break.

Me and my husband knew we were onto a winner by the very warm welcome received by Malcolm and Bernie. They operate a self service room which began with the room key map of Whitby in a plastic bag on the hall way table, they explained thoroughly about our room, parking etc. 
We were lucky enough to be placed in the Resolution suite which all I can say is WOW! A four poster bed greeted us as we stepped into the room, which was also beautifully decorated. The en suite bathroom had a shower, plenty of towels and a wide range of toiletries, with extra towels on hand if needed. The bedroom had two very comfy chairs 2 wardrobes, drawers, tv and bedside lamps, there was a variety tea and coffee (decaf included) and a selection of biscuits, a tassimo coffee machine, kettle and cups. 
We had a bottle of Prosecco and 2 glasses delivered to the room as we were celebrating a wedding anniversary which I thought was a very special touch. We had a welcome text wishing us a lovely stay which we did. 
I really cannot fault this guest house spotlessly clean throughout with amazing hosts, prime location close to train station and close to shops. I’d give 10 out of 10 for every thing and more than 5 stars if possible.

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of September to celebrate an anniversary and the fact that working for the NHS we needed a break!  This place is so well positioned for town and all the amenities and is the cleanest place I have ever stayed - literally immaculate!  

Our room was on the first floor facing the rear of the property.  Every detail has been thought of and there were some very nice treats left for us to enjoy including a bottle of prosecco as a gift.  

The hosts were most accommodating including staying in touch over the weekend by text but never disturbing your privacy.  Much nicer than a cleaner banging on your door wanting to get in...

The only down side for me (being totally nit-picky) was that they don't do breakfast and we struggled to find somewhere both mornings to eat (being not familiar with the town).  Our two choices turned out to be poor ones, unfortunately.

That said, we had a lovely break and enjoyed all that was on offer in Whitby including a boat ride and the steam train.  Should we visit again, we will have a better idea of where we want to eat.

You won't go far wrong with this place for your stay in Whitby - highly recommended!

Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for our weekend in Whitby. The location was perfect and the guest house was beautifully presented spotlessly clean and covid safe with everything we needed and more including toiletries, plenty of snacks, kettle coffee machine, bottled water, real milk in the fridge and as it was my birthday weekend a bottle of prosecco in the fridge was waiting for us. All the extra touches made it very special. The hosts Bernie and Malcolm were very welcoming and friendly and kept in touch by text during our stay to check whether we had everything we needed. We won't hesitate to book again if we visit Whitby again

Out trip to Whitby

Fabulous place

The hotel is in a good location, close to the centre and we were lucky to get a parking space just behind the hotel. There is a parking permit in the welcome pack. The hotel was very quiet, we didn’t see or hear anyone else in the whole time we stayed there. The photo is a little deceptive as the room was much smaller than we were expecting but we didn’t stay in the room long, we were out and about all day. We couldn’t find the espresso machine which was disappointing and the shower was a little awkward to use. As we booked through Tesco Clubcard it was good value for money.

Nice clean and well decorated room, beautiful building. Friendly owner. 

Does what it says on the tin room only. I prefer B&B if i had the option as it is a extra hassle finding a good breakfast, especially if you are visiting other places and want to set off early. . Even if it was a hamper cold breakfast.

Parking is a bit if a hassle, permit provided but still luck of draw, but the same with many other places without a car park. 

Would go back.
