Beautiful small hotel with great rooms, front rooms great sea views i would expect. I had a rear room, but to me, a room is a room. All here are very clean and comfy with tv and free wi fi. Owners are so friendly that they would go out of there way for you.

Liked · I can't recommend The Bay highly enough - Steve and Hannah are the loveliest people and the most welcoming, attentive hosts. I was very reluctant to leave Margate as I had such an enjoyable, restful stay there. My room had a beautiful view of the ocean (JW Turner was right about those Margate sunsets - hard to beat!), and was very cosy and peaceful. I loved walking on Margate Sands along the ocean to Botany Bay. Thank you again Steve and Hannah for your hospitality and warmth - I'll be back soon!

Favourite spots nearby: Doubloons coffee, Forts Cafe, Oast Bakery (try their tartines!), Carl Freedman Gallery for contemporary art lovers & the mysterious Shell Grotto is definitely worth a visit!

We stayed here in an emergency after the accomodation we booked was unacceptable, Hannah and Steve were so lovely warm welcoming and calm after we turned up stressed! They couldn't do enough for us, Brilliant stay, the hotel is quiet comfortable homely and in an ideal location. We will definitely be back and for longer next time. We loved Margate and to see Tom Jones was a dream come true (Hannah even dropped us off at the venue otherwise we might have been late). Thank you Hannah and Steve you were amazing!! ❤️

A gorgeous little guest house in the most amazing location in Margate - just a couple of minutes from the beach, or lots of lovely bakeries and vintage shops. I stayed in the chalet which was so pretty and cosy and had everything I need. The owners were so friendly and helpful and made me feel very welcome as well as giving great recommendations. 

I highly recommend The Bay Guest House nothing is too much trouble for Steve and Hannah  the rooms are comfortable and  clean the sea views are lovely to wake upto and we will definitely book every year for the soul festival.also I would like to thank both Steve and Hannah for having a small birthday celebration for myself as I said nothing is too much trouble they  go the extra mile which makes them the perfect hosts. 😊

I really loved staying here and Hannah and Steve are amazing hosts!
The decor is quirky and cozy and the room I had had a great shower and huge TV. It was like a home from home and the vibe was relaxed.
Hannah & Steve leave breakfast at your door in the morning which is a really nice touch.
They were so kind and flexible to my needs when I stayed and I really want to stay again for a longer visit next time.

lovely accommodation with the perfect host! They are such a lovely couple! We was given free can of drink on arrival as it was a hot day plus little extras in the room like shower gel on the bed and a smart TV! The room was ever so clean also. Perfect location and when we next visit Margate our stay will definitely be at the bay.

Weekend away 

I stayed for 3 nights and loved every second of my time there. Such lovely couple that made me feel very welcome. My room was very comfortable and clean. Wonderful stay.

I stayed here in Feb 2020 for a month and it was a lovely place to stay and hosts Hannah and Steve would go above and beyond to help however they could. Breakfast was amazing as were the sandwiches that Steve makes 
Wonderful hosts...I went to a b n b in Ramsgate in March but wish I had stayed put at the Bay guest house. I will return again when lockdown permits.I would highly recommend The Bay Guest house,lovely hosts and great value too. I stayed there for a month and had a great time.

Hannah was absolutely fantastic and so accommodating!

We stayed in late August and were not expecting to be so well catered for as vegans but we had a great breakfast and we were given alt milks for tea and coffee. The location was great, right by the sea, and meant we could go down to the bars in the evening and walk along the sea front in the day. The Turner Contemporary is well worth going to.

The bedrooms were clean and good size, the bathroom was also clean and the shower was good. It was also really good value.

Lovely stay at The Bay

OK - the room may not have been that big but the welcome was!
We rang on the friday afternoon before the bank holiday weekend after trying to book online through Booking.com and failing. Hannah said she could give us a budget double with toilet and sink but with a shared shower room.  At such short notice we said yes straight away.
We arrived after lunch on saturday and found we been moved up to an en-suite room on the first floor.  It was a little small but clean and comfortable and had everything we'd need for the w/e stay.
We didn't have the best nights sleep, not due to the comfy bed but to the heat (temperature records broken that weekend!) and the ruddy seagulls (but hey, we're at the seaside so you've got to expect that).
Down to breakfast in the morning and you couldn't ask for a more attentive host. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and the selection available for the (well cooked) cooked breakfast was very comprehensive.  There was orange juice waiting for us on the table and a selection of cereals and fruit. Coffee in a cafetiere and much to my wifes' delight, tea in a proper china teapot and china teacups and saucers.
And the one time we had trouble parking outside the hotel Steve and Hannah moved their car to a rear parking place so we could have their slot.  Now that service!
On previous trips to Margate/Westgate we've stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, about 10 minutes out of town.  Next time we'll check with the Bay Guest House first.
