Really impressive hotel with excellent friendly staff who go above & beyond to help make your stay a good one. We stayed in the Severn room which was spotless & very tastefully kitted out. Breakfast was amazing served in a lovely dinning area.

Excellent food and service. Quality, varied and unusual ingredients and flavours presented beautifully. Sea buckthorn ice cream was a delight. Great value. We will not wait so long before returning next time. Highly recommended. 

The rooms are beautiful, cosy and have excellent facilities. They also go the extra mile with lovely hand made biscuits, selection of different waters and coffee. 
The breakfast is simply out of this world and pre ordered the night before so this can be done at leisure. 
All the staff are attentive, polite and made us feel so very welcome even though we arrived late after a long drive. 
All in all one of the best hotel stays.

This was a real find. My room was clean and very comfortable and the food was fantastic. The Trewythen helps to train people for the hospitality sector and everyone was very helpful indeed. I needed to leave very early in the morning and their team put together a delicious cold breakfast I could eat in the restaurant at 6am. Highly recommended!

A fabulous stay what a hidden gem…lunch in the restaurant was excellent homemade good quality produce cooked well our rooms were clean comfortable and very well appointed very quiet also a bonus!…
Breakfast was great  homemade granola jam and pastries plentiful and high quality.
The staff were friendly welcoming and professional well done to all concerned 

Lovely atmosphere, fantastic service (thank you, Matt!) and really delicious food (beer bread, unexpected but brilliant crab with leek mayonnaise amuse bouche, orzo and laverbread risotto, turbot, perl las cheese). Will definitely be returning. Thanks team!

We had a delicious meal this evening. The food and wine were wonderful and the service was brilliant, Matt was a delight. I had the duck for main and it was perfectly cooked. The cocktails were delicious too. Thoroughly recommend and we cant wait to go back!!!

Fabulous food which us complimented with front of house service, always served with a smile. Enjoyed our many visits there, whether it's lunch or dinner. Theme nights are being introduced which are proving very popular. Very clean facilities generally.  Highly recommend.

We stayed at the Trewythen in December for 3 nights ( 2 x double rooms) and I can't recommend them highly enough. We were a little late arriving on the Friday and missed the deadline for final dinner orders but we were able to phone through our order whilst in the car which worked out well. We received a lovely warm welcome, had a a wonderful meal and then retired to our rooms which were very spacious. My mother has mobility issues and the staff couldn't have been more helpful or considerate during our stay, arranging for meals to be taken to her room rather than her having to negotiate the stairs. A HUGE thanks to Rob, Nicola and the team for making it such an enjoyable and stress-free stay.

It's not difficult really and the Trewythen does it just right: easy check in/check out, pleasant room (with the best shower I've experienced for a long time), and a good breakfast (including a special request duly delivered). Well done!

A real find!

What a find…

Highly Recommended!

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending a wedding with 2 other couples. I have to say how very impressed all 6 of us were with the hotel because of its friendly staff, cleanliness and good value. The breakfast was superb, especially as all 6 of us ordered different items the night before and all individual items were present!
Nothing was too much trouble on our visit and would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anybody wishing to stay in the area.

Very efficient & friendly hotel

This is a fab little hotel, it’s very clean, the rooms are lovely and the staff are super friendly. And to make it even better the food is fabulous especially if you are vegetarian. There is free car parking, and often parking on the street. The town itself it lovely for a quick wander with a few small independent shops.

The only thing I did find strange was that no one came in the next day to make your room up, which I have never known before, however they are happy top up anything you may need in the way of shower gel etc.

Little Gem

On my first ever visit to Wales to fish on Clywedog Reservoir. We stayed at this charming hotel.Staff were friendly and helpful as well as very professional, romm was spotlessly clean and comfortable.
The food? Breakfast was excellent with lots of local ingredients used and plenty of it. Evening meal was outstanding best steak I have had in quite some time and my brother said similar things about his lamb. Starters and pudding were also very good and a big thanks for the packed lunch for our fishing trip.

Fishing Weekend

We were delighted to find there was a steak night on my birthday. We arrived and went in using the sanitising system. Staff were helpful. Two of us had starters which were lovely, the steaks came through cooked precisely as ordered and were absolutely delicious. We had one pudding which was also scrumptious. Highly recommend a steal night here.

Very nice room, very good food, excellent service!

Fabulous walks from the hotel itself, and many others within short driving distance (reservoirs/forests/red kite reserves/otter reserves etc).

There's also quite a few other places to eat/drink in Llanidloes but be aware there's not much open on a Sunday.  Would recommend Evans Fish and Chips.

We also thoroughly enjoyed a drive to Aberystwyth and to the Elan Valley Reservoirs from the hotel.

Excellent

Half way home from a day trip to Machynleth  my wife and I called in on spec to The Trewythen Hotel. Although  busy they arranged a table for us. The menu was excellent with everything listed available. After delicious homemade bread and the chef's amuse bouches, I chose pan fried guinea fowl and my wife chose the belly pork. Both meals were outstanding.
We followed with desserts of blackberry cheesecake and sorbet and date pudding with caramel sauce,both delicious.
What a find we will definitely return when we are next in the area.
