Booked a table for 1.45 put mistakingly booked it for next Sunday but the staff managed to fit my wife and myself in for lunch.
I had the beef my wife had the chicken

The beef melted in your mouth, lovely cauliflower cheese, vegetables and ypurkshire pudding,.

Very welcoming staff, pleasant and spacious bedroom, good bathroom, suitably appointed restaurant with a good menu and great food. Delivery could have been a little faster but, to be fair, it was a very busy evening for the staff with seemingly all the outside tables also in use. We will definitely book here again if we are in the Hastings area.

We were In need of a short break and randomly chose The Two Sawyers off the Internet and we are so glad we did..This historic  Pub is in a pretty, peaceful village  and we enjoyed a lovely, large and spotless room for our 2 night stay.  What struck us firstly was tha amazing welcome and continung friendliness from The owners Lucy and Frank and every single member of their team who all always had time to engage and smile even though the pub and restaurant was usually really busy..we eat in the restaurant on both nights and tried dishes from both the main menu and specials board including The most succulent Rib Eye steak, Lamb Rump, A Scallops special and mussels in an orange and tarragon sauce, The food here is lovingly and skilfully prepared, cooked and presented by Frank with generous portions, including the Best Full English Breakfast I have ever had, (No exaggeration) served by a lovely lady whose name unfortunately I forgot to ask.  
On Saturday Afternoon there was a live band in a very large and busy pub garden where the friendly Vibe continued as Visitors and locals alike danced the afternoon away...The whole weekend experience was faultless from start to finish and we felt so much at home we have booked to return in september..Thank you Lucy, Frank and your wonderful team  for a such a fantastic experience.

Having booked for two nights at Two Sawyers, we decided to stop an extra night. Lucy and her team are brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and we will  definitely return for another visit,  Great surroundings and comfortable rooms

My wife Christine and i have just spent an excellent long weekend at this superb venue. Lucy the lady in charge was fantastic, very charming and helpful with every aspect of our break. We stayed in the fabulous Oak room and wow the comfort and the luxury was second to none,  Frank the chef is the husband of Lucy and every meal we had was fantastic, the choice for breakfast was mind blowing with real quality produce available every day.                                                                                        The very friendly bar area is stocked with a great selection of Ales, lagers and top notch wines too, i personally enjoyed the Timothy Taylor Landlord ale, excellent.    The staff are both friendly and helpful , top marks to Liana and her Friday night team of waiting staff, the service was perfect.                                                                             Another heads up shout out for the great cleanliness and attention to hygiene standards which was carried out by Donna and Kirby. Thank you all for an excellent experience , we hope to see you again shortly and certainly next year when my wife and i will be celebrating our 60 th Wedding anniversary .                              I would highly recommend you visit this superb excellent venue for a first class experience.  Lucy, thank you for bringing the warmth of your beloved Wimborne  Dorset to East Sussex.

Excellent, our second visit, we stayed 4 nights this time.   Very attentive staff can't do enough for you. Room enormous, as before - you can really spread out. Food excellent. If in doubt - please book it!

Had a wonderful stay, the room was very comfortable, and the food to die for.  Their breakfasts were really yummy. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Good car parking facilities. Free WIFI . Very good value

The staff super friendly. The garden is great. Rooms are nice. Food is excellent. The area is marvelous. The location of the two sawyers is easy to find. Hastings is nearby. Same with Rey. Nice towns with lot of history.

The food was excellent, all meals came out together and were hot! We were not rushed and had plenty of time to rest between courses. The staff were all polite and helpful and enjoyed a bit of banter with us too!    Our two dogs were welcomed as well.

Just had a two night stay and the food and hospitality was fantastic. Great evening meal and a tasty breakfast. Safe and enjoyable stay very friendly people, the room was very spacious and had everything we could need. We have been before and will hopefully be returning.

Exceeded expectations - great value!

Fantastic Experience

A SUPERB EXPERINCE.

Lovely old inn with good parking, free WiFi and lovely friendly staff.  Lovely room with a fridge containing fresh milk and bottled water.  Huge wardrobe with plenty of proper coat hangers.  Bed was a bit “bouncy” for us but I’m sure some would find it comfortable. 
Just a few issues that could be easily remedied but wouldn’t stop us staying again but did affect our enjoyment.  
  It was really hot weather but the curtains had been left open and the sun had made the room unbearable.  A fan provided but sadly not efficient and just stirred up the hot air.  Difficult I know to change this but it made for an uncomfortable night.  Efficient shower but the shower head was held up with tape and kept repositioning itself.  The shower shelf was rusty.  The bathroom blind wouldn’t lower and the window didn’t open.
We were told when we checked in that breakfast was served from 9-10am so were surprised to find all the other guests had nearly finished their breakfast when we got to the dining room at 9am.  Would have liked some healthy options for breakfast like yoghurt and fruit but my partner enjoyed his full English.
Maybe we were just unlucky with the room we were given as no other reviews seem to have mentioned the issues. Hopefully if we’re in the area again we can give this place another try.

Would return but a few issues.

Stayed here for a two night break. On arrival found there had been a mix up over room booked by staff were excellent and quickly resolved the problem. Good room with well stocked tea and coffee facilities with complimentary bottled water and milk in the fridge.  We ate both nights in the restaurant downstairs and the food was good typical pub grub with a few specials on the board. Food was served hot and good sized portions. Pub had a good variety of beers and wines available. In the  morning the full English breakfast is not to be missed and will keep you going all day.  On the downside breakfast is not served until after 8.30am which delays any early start you may wish to do.  No choice of toast offered so given white toast both breakfasts. Otherwise an excellent breakfast both days.

Two night stay, really good well appointed room. Excellent breakfast, service was good nothing was too much trouble. Nice local beers to sample.
Evening meal on the last night with well cooked venison. Local countryside is lovely with good views just a short walk away.

Only down side you sleep above a pub.

Short stay.

Stayed 3 nights in 2 rooms. Beautiful quaint location, so tranquil. All amenities at hand, exceptionally comfortable beds, lovely shower and everything you need at hand. Food is of the highest standard - brilliant choices and everything cooked to perfection.
A place with a lovely vibe... could not fault it.

Outstanding

We recently came here for an evening meal. We have been here many times and have always been pleased with everything. As usual, our food was good, staff friendly and a cosy dining room to eat in along with a nice burning log fire on this evening. However on this occasion I just have to remark on the oh so small portion (for the money) of a Sussex Smokey starter which was served in a tiny like ramekin about four inches in diameter and inch and a half deep. I can only compare this dish to other places and in this case others are far far larger. This is a niggle rather than a moan as its not good value for money. Food was great and we had a nice evening and will be happy to continue to eat here in the future.

Just stayed 2 nights here and everything was fabulous. Room lovely size and very clean. Great breakfast. Had evening meals here on both nights, excellent choice and great food. Good location. All the staff very friendly and well done to Marc the manager who made sure we had a wonderful time. Will return. 😃
