Stayed for four nights while attending a conference. Clean, spacious, well appointed and quiet room. Thoughtful extras include homemade biscuits in the bedroom and a footspa in the en suite. The latter had a window, so plenty of natural light.
From Tilbury Lodge, it's a pleasant walk into the city centre, but also close to a regular, rapid bus service which goes into the central bus station. Because it is in a quiet location, there is no noise from traffic - ideal for light sleepers. 
Best of all is the wonderful Stefan, who makes superb breakfasts, is efficient, friendly and good humoured (he has a variety of travellers' tales!) and who ensures the establishment runs smoothly and to a very high standard. 
Very good value - would recommend.

I stayed at Tilbury Lodge just for one night, and really had a lovely experience. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were quiet, clean and well presented. The location was not fantastic but ok, I did struggle finding somewhere to eat close by on foot. However the city centre is only a bus ride away! What made my stay so great was the details. The breakfast was fantastic, and I loved the homemade biscuits in the room, the welcome from staff, the peaceful garden, the hot chocolate and homemade sweets. All little details that really made a difference

We had a lovely room with various treats such as sweets, chocolates and homemade cookies. The staff were very friendly and provided us with a welcome tray of tea, coffee and cake etc when we arrived. Breakfast was great with a good range of options. Easy bus into the city if a quick taxi ride.

Our room was well presented, clean & comfortable for a good nights sleep. We were welcomed with a pleasant smile then tea and treats on arrival, plus extras in our room. Stefan's breakfast was lovely and was happy to cater for my coeliac wife. Being in a quiet location just outside the town centre, allowed us to park our car and catch the bus for hassle free exploring of beautiful Oxford. But watch out for all the bikes, as many riders have little regard for pedestrians. Great place to stay; Recommended.
