The Barn

Stayed here just for the night for work and what a lovely cosy place! The host had left me a breakfast bag & in the room there was plenty of Yorkshire Tea, biscuits and treats.The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot too!Felt very welcome, would definitely recommend it.

Our stay was wonderful. Adrian and his wife really did think of everything. A very welcoming couple.They kindly let us check in early. Provided some lovely room refreshments such as cookies, biscuits and chocolates.It’s the best nights sleep we’ve had in a long while. The bed was soooo comfortable.Breakfast was 11/10! The quality and quantity was superb.The area is also really quaint. We took a stroll to The Crown for our evening meal, and again excellent service and food.We will be recommending the B&B to everyone we know.

Beautiful accommodation finished to a very high standard. Friendly hosts and excellent breakfast.Highly recommended and would definitely stay again.Good food and friendly service available at The Crown, which is walking distance from The Barn.We stayed in Room 1 at The Barn, which is on the ground floor at the front of the property. A beautiful, air-conditioned (that we didn't use) room, but the windows didn't appear to be easily opened (which is our preference at night). Also, the excellent shower isn't really high enough for guests over about 5'10". Having said that, still a lovely place to stay and highly recommended.

Lovely B&B would highly recommend it. Beautiful room , comfortable clean and owners are lovely. Nothing too much trouble. Would go again 😁

A gem of a find for a restful one night stay on our long drive home from Scotland. Warm,comfy,beautiful decor & delicious breakfast. Great, warm-hearted hosts. And a nice pub nearby for evening meal. All perfect!

Splendid stay at The Barn

What a fabulous little gem.Superbly decorated rooms and with plenty of tea, coffee, juices and locally producrd biscuits.I stayed in the small attic room which was ample for me.The breakfast was superb and cooked to order from the menu being supplied the evening before.The hosts were amazing and upon arrival a welcome fresh coffee was made to take to the room.All in all....SUPERB 10/10

Superm little 10/10 Gem

Monk Fryston Hall is a beautiful historic building. A little faded around the edges but delicious afternoon tea and friendly a gracious service from the owners more than made up for that. Plentiful tasty sandwiches served with a side of homemade apple chutney, scones with jam and clotted cream and a delicious homemade fruit compote and dainty cakes and macaroons. Not posh and pretentious just homely and tasty.

The Barn is a beautiful, small country B&B with a lovely, comfortable room. The owners were friendly upon our arrival and the breakfast was very tasty and all locally sourced. The hotel was located close to Leeds but also in a peaceful country village giving us the best of both worlds during our stay. However, the hosts were more informal than we are used to regarding communication/privacy. This may be a issue for some guests.

Firstly the hotel was quiet so the owners paid us lots of attention. They showed us round the hotel in different rooms as we were curious about hauntings. 
Our dog moo moo was spoilt rotten with sausage and salmon from the owners, obviously they became best friends. I can not fault the staff they are working with skeleton staff and still managing to keep guests happy. 

The hotel is old therefore dated and in need of some tlc. Our room was clean, comfortable and we had hot water etc. The hotel is dog friendly which is great but separate dining rooms which is totally understandable. 

The walk about the grounds is lovely. To our disappointment there was no chef on site but we were told this upon booking. The lady of the hotel even offered to make us sandwiches. She couldn’t have dont enough to make a stay a good one. However we decided to go across the road to the crown pub for lunch which was great. Lovely food , great staff and totally dog friendly. We tried the cross keys near by but they wanted to put is in the snug due to the dog but it wasn’t inviting so we left, the rest of their pub looked nice. 

The hotel bar is lovely to sit by the fire. Unfortunately no draft beer so had to buy small bottles at a costly price. 
Masks worn throughout the hotel by staff and guests. Track and trace completed and social distancing abided to. 

Attentive staff 

The owners couldn't do enough for us. Coffee and biscuits on arrival. They booked us in for dinner at a local pub. The breakfast was absolutely 1st class starting with the organic porridge, honey and a little pot of double cream and then into a wonderful full English, cooked to perfection, piping hot and served to your door, all washed down with copious amounts of Betty's Harrogate ground coffee. What more could you want?

I have been to the hotel many times before. The grounds are stunning and as we had the dogs a good walk through the woods.
Yes the place does need tlc but the room was very comfortable my only moan no comment is the hand basin had no hot water. 
Breakfast was very good . The hotel was great for a quite break and my friend and I had a very relaxing time.
We found the staff very friendly and helpful.
Will I go again yes i would

Short bteak

This place is a little gem, lovely setting in a private  courtyard, The rooms are pure comfort and so clean. The owners are very friendly and cannot do enough for you, from recommending local eateries, to places for a walk.The choice for breakfast was vast with everything and anything you could want, and all locally sourced. It was a pleasure to stay here

Stayed last night, with our family on our way to visit friends in Durham. The grounds are stunning. My daughter and I went on a meander, through the woods, and walked over several beautiful, wooden bridges. 
Breakfast was delicious, and the customer service we received was excellent. Everyone we encountered, was very helpful and friendly, and it was excellent value too.
