The most incredible pub in the world, I am so grateful to of experienced the old nag . I had an incredible time reflecting in this pub with my peers. Chips were great, slushes were grand, staff were excellent, lots of love x

Best Pub Evs

Good food, great beer, no complaints. Can get very busy.

Have eaten here afew times on various visits to Edale and always had a good meal. Staff are friendly and there is a nice atmosphere. Always worth a visit.

Great place to eat after a day on the hills

Whoever cleans these so called ‘cottages’   ( these are two little flats behind a lovely pub) needs sacking. Arrived to glaring cobwebs in the kitchen area a cooker hood caked in grease   and a shower room with mould was  and very shabby looking. shower was dreadful with poor flow and very tepid water ( this improved slightly on the second night when it was brought to the attention of staff)  bed comfy. 
The thing that sells these places and an outrageous  price given the experience we had is the location and that’s why they will never go unoccupied. but i would suggest not many repeat customers. We certainly won’t be

Overpriced and Dirty Not cottages !

Came in with my Friends and paid £24 for a drink starter and main. Pizza was rock hard and comical two of our friends ordered margaritas and they both came out opposite colours. All pizzas were clearly fresh out the freezer. Waiter was brilliant and very friendly but bar staff weren’t very welcoming didnt smile at all to any of us

Frozen Pizza for £12!!!

Visited to take a trip down memory lane. Pub has been extended and lost its soul. Service was unfriendly, prices high for the area. Drinks all OK, but wouldn't make us stay for food or go back. Quite sad really. Garden area was packed full of beaches to accommodate the visitors but made it feel crowded.

Commercalised to target walkers

Really nice place to go for a quick pint after a long walk. Came here with some friends, great selection of ales/beers, nice portions of chips and all of the food that went past looked incredible. We had great seats in the back garden and staff were friendly!

Great after a hike

Stopped in the lovely campsite opposite the pub and decided to spend the evening with friends at the pub. It was a busy Saturday night. Staff were friendly and the food was lovely but was let down  as every glass was extremely dirty, some of he worst I have seen. They obviously hadn't been washed properly for some time and I suggest they invest in a new glasswasher.  In this current climate this is unacceptable and a matter of basic hygiene.

Having seen several local websites praise this pub, we were disappointed. Hikers Bar seemed unwelcoming, despite a fire going. My wife asked for a cheese baguette - it came with melted cheese which was not expected, and had no flavor. Huge potential with the pub, but not met. Also, pub has very limited parking : we took the last space on a late-November lunchtime!

Disappointed

I’m not sure whether to start with the floor staff barging into patrons, banging plates and swearing or the ignorant bar staff. Everything seemed like we were putting the staff out. Unfortunately this put us off so much we didn’t stick around to eat. However the Ladybower 30mins away was fab! Extremely disappointed!

Very Rude Staff

Called in after a long wet hike.  The pub was cold.  Needed the heating turning up!  Food offer was great, lots of choice and generous portions. Covid compliance very well supported.  Experience spoilt by the barman’s unpleasant manner.  Unnecessarily abrupt.  Would benefit from taking a course in customer care. Left with a very bad feeling. All agreed we won’t be going back.
