Cherry Holme

Cherry Holme was a highlight on the Coast to Coast walk. It is located right across the street from Ullswater and the view from our room was magnificent. The breakfast sandwich was warm and delicious. The hosts could not have been more helpful with recommendations for dinner and even providing us with toothpicks to pry out some junk from my IPhone. The room itself was cozy and comfortable. This was definitely one of the best places we stayed on the C 2 C. The town of Glenridding is also picturesque and charming.

My partner booked this B&B as a birthday surprise for me. On arrived we where greeted by Mike the owner who was friendly, welcoming and informative, much more than you would usually get from a big hotel. The rooms where immaculate and the decor was comfortable and homely with a lovely view of the lake. The small touches really count and the fully stocked fridge with complimentary snacks was great( especially if your going walking and need a picnic). The breakfast in the morning was delivered to our door and was hot and fresh! When Mike found out out was my birthday they put a card, chocolates and wine in the room which was lovely and definitely going the extra mile. 
Coming from the hotel industry myself I would usually pick a bigger hotel or chain however this Quant, beautiful little B&B had exceeded my expectations and has changed my mind.

We definitely recommend this as a place to stay and will be returning soon.

What an outstanding guest house this is. Fabulous hosts. Wonderful room with lake view. Extremely comfortable king size bed. Fridge stocked with loads of goodies. Outdoor seating to sit with a glass of wine on a nice sunny evening. Superb.

Cherry Holme provided us with the perfect accommodation for a wedding we were attending at the Inn on the Lake, Mike and Cath were lovely hosts who couldn’t do enough to help with the wedding preparations. The decor and rooms are very tasteful and the games room is excellent to. What a view from our window,  highly recommended. 

Cherry Holme is a lovely guesthouse. Mike was a great host and made our couple of days extremely enjoyable. 
The proximity to get out into Ullswater is fantastic.
If we're up in the Lake District again we'll definitely b stopping here again.

We spent a lovely week at Cherry Holme and were made to feel very welcome by the hosts, Mike and Kathy, throughout our stay. Our spacious room had a beautiful view of the lake, was spotlessly clean throughout our stay and we really appreciated the thoughtful touches such as the Easter egg. We will definitely be back in the future and would highly recommend this lovely guesthouse.

We stayed at Cherry Holme to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and were so pleased that we choose it. Mike and Kathy were lovely hosts, welcoming and helpful but not intrusive. The room over looked the lake and was clean and comfortable with everything that you needed to hand. The little fridge was stocked with fresh milk, cereal and all kinds of treats. We enjoyed the quirky breakfast arrangement, delivered to your door between 8.30 - 9, really nice when you are having a relaxing break, you don’t even have to get dressed 😊. When we returned on Sunday they had put a lovely Easter egg in our room, a really nice touch. We would definitely recommend Cherry Holme and Glenridding as a base to enjoy the Lake District and will certainly return.

Good location, short walk to lake, restaurants and Ullswater steamer. Selection of hot/cold drinks, cereals, snacks available in room as well as option to pre-order a hot breakfast roll and pastries which is delivered to your room to eat or you can take it to the lounge or even outside if you wish. No bar facilities but there is a mini fridge in the room so you can take your own drinks if you want to. Mike is a very pleasant and helpful host. Good clean facilities, including good access to WiFi, Usb ports. Would stay here again.

Just Lovely

It was our first time visiting the beautiful Ulleswater Lake. We will definitely be visiting again. Unfortunately, we certainly wont be considering this guest house. We received awful treatment from the owner as we got lost and had clearly taken a wrong turn into his car park. Not only was the owner extremely unhelpful, he was incredibly rude to me, my partner and two young children. Absolutely disgusting behaviour!
