It is a self catering cabin and it was my second visit here and the accomodation had been painted and new showers put in. I come here with different groups for scrapbooking and have enjoyed the whole experience. The place is very clean and the facilities are really good and the cabin is away from the main road. I have just come back and will be returning again at the end of the month. Highly recommend it and would come again.

I stayed here quite a few years ago for an all girls crafting weekend and could describe it then as cheap and cheerful, but having gone back very recently, for another crafting weekend, I was pleasantly surprised.  The whole place has been done up,  it felt very fresh and clean.  There were better shower facilities, a better kitchen and seating area and a lovely big size dining room with large table, although we ate our meals at the Forge cafe in the walks across the road.  The cabins served us very well for what we wanted it for and I would come back again if we were organising a similar weekend :)

Great location to get away from it all. Went with a group of girlfriends and same back thoroughly chilled out. Sleeping in bunk beds takes me back a bit. The venue has had a complete overhaul and ISO much brighter and fresher as a result.  Wouldn't hesitate to go back if we can convince our friend to arrange again. Good little cafe in the Walks opposite and plenty of fresh air to go round.

Having had a fantastic experience in 2014, I booked again for a group of friends for April 2015 and have to say that the cabins are even better than before!  There has been some serious refurbishment carried out, completely redecorated in the living area and new showers and basins etc in the Ladies and Gents WC's.  This made such a difference to my all female party, having great showering facilities!

The whole place looks fresh and summery, and I would highly recommend this venue for a break in the fab surroundings!  

Will be there again in a few weeks and cant wait!

We had a great time when we stayed at Woodland Lodge over New Year together with a couple of other families.  There were plenty of bedrooms (all bunk beds) for the kids to spread out (although space was a bit tight for the adults).  The dining room was perfectly sized however the kitchen was a bit cramped given the number of people that the Lodge caters for. The place was prettily well equipped with kitchen utensils etc but it would have been helpful to have a few more basic supplies eg washing up liquid, bin liners, dustpan and brush.  Whilst the general furnishings were a bit dated and tired the showers and toilets were clean and modern.  Heating was a bit patchy - some rooms had adequate heating but the big dining room had a rather ineffective heater.  Luckily it wasn't that cold so this wasn't a problem.  Overall we had a good time and the owner was very helpful.
