We stayed here for two nights. The hotel is really convenient for the M5 and East Devon and is up the road from Dart's Farm. It is very quiet, despite being on a busy road. The food is excellent- we can recommend the curry and also the honey pot pudding. The staff were really helpful during our stay- and the breakfast was also very good. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. 

The staff are exceptional and our room was spacious clean and comfortable. We couldn’t have wanted more.
Breakfast was as good as it gets with plenty of choice and quality food. 
Our only negative would be the evening meals which were disappointing. One was a pasta dish with just 5 tasteless king prawns. Another was fish & chips when the fish was so over-cooked the batter couldn’t be cut and had to be snapped by hand. It was mostly left on the plate. We ate there each evening of our 3 night stay so it was such a shame that 2 meals were so poor.
It’s a great place to stay though and the restaurant was busy so maybe we were just unlucky as it’s clearly a popular place to eat. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

We stayed here whilst visiting family. The breakfast was very filling and there was a few options to have. The breakfast server (rich) was very helpful and knowledgable. The room was basic but we only used it to sleep in. Lesley and the team were friendly and welcoming.

Where to start, what a great service provided by Lesley & Team. We clearly enjoyed our stay here and all the staff and members of the team were extremely friendly too.We felt so welcomed when we first arrived , room was quiet comfortable.

Visited as a stop off on the way too Cornwall with my family. It was a warm and welcoming places to stop, I couldn’t fault the room and the service. The manger couldn’t have been better, breakfast in the morning, was phenomenal.  The selection was very good. And it was cooked fresh which is a lot better than some of the bigger chains.

The room no 22 was very clean and spacious.

Lesley the Manger and her deputy Giles made the whole visit very enjoyable .

We booked an evening meal on line asking for a window seat  , all worked very well .

The Sunday lunch is highly recommended, with olives to nibble at while waiting then roast turkey with a good bottle of wine  - all for £48 !! . Really good ..

The staff could not do enough for us .

I used to stay here on business around 12 years ago, and it has not changed, it is as good now as it was then, great food, great rooms, and good service, plenty of parking. It is an excellent menu quality of food is brill, and the brea is well worth getting up for. 

Stayed at the St George & Dragon before & just as happy as previous occasions. Very comfortable, well equipped rooms & particularly liked the large, walk-in shower (make sure you request this on booking) Easy access at all times with a fob operated side door.
There is a good restaurant serving an excellent breakfast with lots of choice, lunches & dinner & a very pleasant bar.

Well located off the M5 & for the local attractions such as Exmouth & Exeter. Would highly recommend & will be staying again on our next trip to Devon.

Very comfortable stay. We had a ground floor room very near to the restaurant and exit to the car park, which was brilliant for us.  We had booked an ‘enhanced double room’ the room was spacious and king size bed was comfortable.
All the staff were helpful , friendly and welcoming.  
The choice for breakfast was excellent . We enjoyed the relaxed ambience of the bar/restaurant and the food was good.  Tables for meals other than breakfast had to be booked separately through the pubs website.The restaurant/pub is also open to non residents and appeared very popular and as we only made the booking 24hrs before our stay we couldn’t get a table at our preferred time for the Friday night and Sunday lunch, although the info sheets in the room  did say to speak a member of staff . Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely book again.

Great Location, Excellent food

Easy booking, smooth check in, very clean and well presented room.  Easy parking on site.   Friendly staff.
I would have awarded five stars had breakfast been better.   Juice, hot drinks and cooked breadfast from the brunch menu were on offer.   No cerial, muesli, fruit, yogurt or toast on offer, which seems to be the norm elsewhere.

On arrival the hotel looks very run down and tired the paint is peeling off the windows windows are rotten …..looks scruffy

The room was adequate comfortable 
Room was very hot even though we were on the ground floor you can only open the windows about 4 cms ,there was a fan so it was bearable 
It’s on a busy noisy road 
We had breakfast both mornings which was very good .The service is excellent very enthusiastic friendly chap .Food was fantastic very generous full English !
All in all a good stay .

Very Enjoyable Stay

I visited this venue many years ago and decided to try it again this week. I had a really enjoyable visit. Checking in was quick and easy and the room was immaculate. Large, clean and everything I needed. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the service from the young lady who was doing everything from checking people in to serving food was exemplary. I’ll definitely be giving this place another go soon.

Room was perfectly designed for our use. Clean, comfy bed, easy to use shower. Considering hotel was on a busy main road, no road noise heard. The breakfast was perfectly cooked with a good choice on menu. We had evening meals here too and they were exceptional. The staff were very professional and attentive.
