We attended a theme night at this place with dinner included it was a northern soul night where I was expecting to see a DJ playing records all night but to my surprise there was a live turn on and she had a very good voice too. The meal which we chose was the sticky chicken with rice (see attached photo) and I have to say I would put that up against any of the Tai restaurants I personally have been to other dishes were available and it also included a dessert we chose the strawberry and prosecco roulade with fresh cream. Throughly enjoyed our evening here 

Me and my partner visited the mayflower a couple of weeks ago for a change from our normal pub and from walking through the main door we got a homely feeling and a warm welcome from the landlord and we were surprised to all the tables were nicely set up with wine glasses for those who like wine.and with proper serviettes in the wine glasses and a bottle of water which was a nice touch.the young lady asked us what we would like to drink and brought it to our table.and when our food arrived it was absolutely beautiful and fresh.the decor is different but nice.and we enjoyed our visit so much we went back at the weekend and wow we were met with a giant Xmas tree and decorations all over which was lovely.and again enjoyed our visit and the food.well done to everyone involved and thank you for the beautiful homemade food.we loved it..see you again soon.paul and Tracey.

Couple in our 50s staying in the Home farm Lodge next door for the night so decided to book in here for dinner. All we can say is wow absolutely beautiful food , the starters of prawn cocktail and garlic bread were the best I have tasted !! Husband had the steak which he said was amazing and I had the pork belly , delicious!! Staff were so friendly and attentive , when we are back in the area we will definitely book again.

Last night, four of us went to the Mayflower pub at Austerfield near Bawtry, about half an hour’s drive for us. This quirky pub has a huge menu (we were spoilt for choice) and generous portions - no one leaves the Mayflower feeling hungry!!
Our choice of starters was prawn cocktail (served in a wine glass and turned onto a plate at your table!), black pudding doughnuts served with apple and coconut sauce, ginger pig (pork crackling served with apple sauce) and feta cheese and beetroot salad.
Main course were mussels served with a garlic and cream sauce topped with bacon and cheese (!), slow roasted belly pork, chicken Caesar salad, and salmon in prawn and Hollandaise sauce.
Desserts (we didn’t need them but sooo tempting!) were raspberry roulade and baked cheesecake.
We had pre dinner drinks (beer and G&Ts), and shared a bottle of wine with the meal. We paid £45 pp including a tip - I have included a copy of the menu for full pricing information.
We had a great night out with good friends - many thanks to Chris and all the staff for a lovely evening!

We found this pub after recommendations from friends a couple of months back and were initially put off by the 'no booking' for Sunday carvery lunch, and closure each Monday/Tuesday.  Eventually found opportunity to visit, and it is really excellent - since our first visit we must have been half a dozen times for Sunday lunch or evening meals.  Although no bookings taken on Sundays, it is not a problem - so far we've always been seated almost immediately.  Staff are so friendly and helpful - and owner Chris is almost a cabaret act in himself!  Menus are wide ranging, so there's always something to choose -  Amazing Sticky Chicken my favourite, lasagne my wife's;  gammon was great too, as were mussels (not all on the same day!).  These really are Yorkshire portions - be warned: you will not manage starter, main and dessert.  Prices very acceptable - and large car park behind the pub.   A couple of minutes from the centre of Bawtry, 20 minutes from central Doncaster.   A very definite recommendation - well worth the detour!   Only complaint - staff don't seem to acknowledge or respond to these reviews...

Visited on the off chance for lunch. Waitress was friendly and attentive. There was a lot of choice on the menu, probably a bit too much of a mixture, but no one could say that they couldn’t find something for them to try. We opted for lasagne and pie. They were both homemade and delicious. Proper chips and good portion sizes. We were very happy with our food but had no room for desert! Would visit again when it’s not such a flying visit as would like to try more dishes!

Had a superb evening at The Mayflower last evening. Chris, Jade and all the staff and super and very welcoming.
The food is absolutely delicious, sticky chicken is not to be missed and the Tyson burger is definitely unforgettable and my husband's favourite.
The whole place has a great atmosphere too, perfect for a date night, friends get together or family night out. I would say book a table and go, you will have a brilliant time x

Fantastic quality food and service , we went for Sunday lunch and can not speak highly enough about the quality of the xarvery meat and how well it was cooked. Service was great, and it was so busy , says it all. We gad three courses, I think our eyes were bigger than our bellies tbh , but it was irresistible!

Didn't know this wonderful place existed until a family member mentioned it.
Booked for evening meal for four. Love the fact you are shown your table but no rush to get you seated, all at your pace.
Good selection of beers, wines and spirits which was nice as even had 0 alcohol ones for drivers. 
Now moving on to menu, absolutely fantastic,  loads of choices and we all said same thing,  generous portions.
Recommend the lamb shanks and gammon, but the prawn pasta looked superb. 
Overall,  great food and drink,  staff were good with us so thank you. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic!!

Called in Saturday afternoon for lunch.  
Great menu, loads of choice & huge specials board.  
Food was excellent & staff friendly

Several people brought their dogs which was nice

Will definitely be back - only downside was the beer - no John smiths!  But hubby will drive next time so I can have wine!!!
