Great place, lovely hospitality, and catered very well for a gluten free breakfast

Excellent room. I stayed one night on my way down South. My room was up in the attic with an on-suite. It was nicely heated, clean with a comfortable bed. The bathroom had good water pressure and was very clean. Breakfast was great. 👍 The location was very convenient, just a short walk to shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. Lovely cobblestone street and houses surrounding. Parking was just fine, I just parked in the street and upon checkin I was given a parking permit to put in the window. Last my host was lovely and likewise the staff at breakfast.

Stayed for three nights during some work I had to do in Carlisle. It is an excellent location, 5 minutes from the centre.I judge 3 things at a B&B:Bed - Very comfy, clean and with a nice warm duvet.Breakfast - Very tasty, substantial, with good quality ingredients. Loved it.Shower - Many B&Bs struggle to maintain a good water pressure in the shower. Not the case here, excellent pressure.Overall this is an excellent B&B and I will be returning next time my work takes me to Carlisle.

Very friendly! Lovely room. Clean, and the bed was bigger than expected for a single room. I arrived about 5pm Friday and plenty of parking available close by

A fabulous/beautiful guest house.  Room was great, everything you could possibly want or need. Very clean. Shower was nice and hot. 
Our host was brilliant. So passionate about her guesthouse/business. Nothing was too much trouble. Went over and above our expectations. 
We will definitely return. 

This was our 4th stay at this superb b&b. Friendly host & spotless room. Plenty of choice for breakfast.Always a pleasure to stay.

The place was spotless clean, hosts were very welcoming. Parking was easy and free, and it’s very close the centre.

We've stayed here before and because we were made so welcome it was our first choice to stay again in Carlisle. Our room was spacious, there is a double and single bed. Fab Greek restaurant within walking distance (booking req) . All Carlisle has to offer less than a mile away. Thanks Adele we loved our weekend trip J + C

Amazing guest house and such good value. Our room was lovely and comfortable. It was so quiet, we had a great sleep. Breakfast was lovely and our host was very welcoming. Would definitely stay here again next time we visit Carlisle. Thanks

Lovely, convenient B&B

A delightful B&B very central location, landlady very friendly.  Lovely welcome, she was very concerned for my safety as I was travelling alone, helped me out with a problem I was facing the following day.  

The room was very comfortable warm and clean, iron and board, tea making facilities, hair dryer, everything you need.  

However the heating seems to go off at around 9:30pm and the temperature in the room dropped like a stone.  Admittedly it was exceptionally cold outside that night and I am a soft Southerner!  It’s a large house and with the fuel crises we all have to make a living.  I was glad I had packed my hot water bottle!   I did mention it the following morning and she was very concerned that I had been cold and said I should have come down and let her know.  

The breakfast room was warm and inviting, decor was enchanting and the food was delicious, I am sorry I could t do it justice, I hate waste, but every mouthful was a delight.

Welcoming stay in Carlisle

A lovely stay - the room was spotlessly clean, with a very comfortable bed and an amazing shower. Cooked breakfast was ok - not amazing (you had to make your own toast, which isn't a problem, but on checking the bread, unfortunately it was all out of date! Not sure if it had been defrosted but even then having 'reduced' stickers and 'basics' range bread isn't acceptable in my opinion). However, I would recommend staying here as it's very convenient to walk into Carlisle, with parking on an adjacent road, and good value for the price paid.

Spotlessly Clean B&B

The host and owner was very nice, gave us parking pass and were able to park nearby, she prides herself on everything being clean and it was! She made an incredible English breakfast . Highly recommend if you are in the area. If you have any issues with climbing stairs I would let her know so she can put you on the 2nd floor and not the third. Enjoy !

Arrived to a lovely warm welcome from the owner.The room was comfortable and spacious ( only niggle the bed creaks)Huge bathroom enjoyed a lovely soak in the bath!Very clean and well maintained. Gorgeous original victorian / edwardian  features around the house.Great cooked breakfast. Very close to city center so easy to find places to eat in the daytime and evening.

Charming

Had to make a quick trip to Carlisle and couldn’t have spent a more comfortable and welcoming night.

Lovely B&B with welcoming hosts, clean and modern rooms and a delicious full English breakfast.

I would definitely recommend Cornerways as a place to stay. It’s a beautiful house, perfectly located for a 2 minute walk to shops, bars, read and Carlisle station.

We only spent one night at Cornerways. It is within walking distance of the town centre and a parking permit is provided on arrival. There is plenty of on street parking near the guest house. The building looks Victorian and has been decorated by Adele and her husband in keeping with that era. Our room was very spacious, clean and well equipped. The bed was firm but comfortable and we had a good night’s sleep.  There was a little en suite shower room which had been fitted retrospectively in the corner of the very large Victorian bedroom. The en suite was very clean. The shower was fine but not very powerful. A cooked breakfast has to be pre-ordered but that means no wait in the morning. Adele was very friendly and welcoming and I thought that the cost was very reasonable. I would recommend this guest house if staying in the area and you want something different from the usual chain hotels.
