Lovely B&B and pub, the owners was very helpful and friendly, food was very nice in the evening, and breakfast,  bed was comfortable and room was clean, it sites out on it's own with some beautiful views. Would definitely stay again.

Visited for a Sunday lunch on 29th December 2024.   Owner and staff were welcoming and attentive.  We had a roast pork dinner, very tender and tasty, the vegetables were perfectly cooked, as were the potatoes.  Prices are very reasonable.   We have visited a few times before, and it's always the same excellent standard.   You won't find a better Sunday lunch if you're having a day out in this area.

Comfortable room with everything that you need. Breakfast was tasty. Owners very pleasant. Food in restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. Gluten free catered for.

The property was clean and comfortable.  The cooked breakfast was very good.  It was in a good spot to get to where we wanted to go.  Its on a main road and the pub was not noisy so fid not affect our sleep.  Its not in a pretty village but the surroundings are lovely.  Its good value for money.

Lovely Sunday lunch

Haven't been for sometime due to mobility issues but we ventured out today from Derby for a Peak District drive and a meal. The Jug and Glass beckoned and as from previous visits, it didn't disappoint. A great good value meal, friendly locals and a day to remember. Look forward to seeing you again. Thanks.

Another excellent experience

We really enjoyed our stay.  The Inn is on a fairly busy road, which means it's easy to find with loads of parking - but most of the better known walks are a drive away.We ate at the restaurant both nights as it was so delicious and the team was lovely and welcoming too.Great ambiance and lovely management.

We recently visited Buxton and started our day at The Jug and Glass Inn. It was a delightful experience from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere was charming, and the staff were exceptionally pleasant and welcoming. We enjoyed a tasty full English breakfast that was cooked to perfection. Overall, The Jug and Glass Inn is a lovely place to stay within driving distance to Buxton. Highly recommended!

Very comfortable and clean room, attractive decor, super bed. Quiet, as we were not facing the main road. Excellent and very reasonable pub grub type food.  Cooked breakfast  very good but disappointed no fresh fruit was available. Business like service. Great centre for walking breaks in gorgeous countryside.

Comfortable two night stay.

Ideal place to stay when visiting various attractions in the area. Welcoming and friendly owners. Nice clean room (No 3). Good pint for me and prosecco for the better half, evening meal lovely, all at very reasonable price. Breakfast also good. Also Dylan, our border Collie was very welcome and happy with his stay!

Great little place

What a great little pub. We went  in on a whim just for drinks. We were offered a tall table amongst what appeared to be regulars to the pub. And that was the start of a very enjoyable evening, we were made to feel welcome by everybody including all the staff and the amusing lady behind the bar. Who we suspect was the landlady and had such an amazing time.  Laughing and joking and being invited to join in with all the conversations. It was so good we decided to order some food. This was very enjoyable indeed and priced right too. All in all it was one of the best none organised evenings we have had for a long time.  Please don’t drive by, pull in and enjoy this fantastic pub. We even managed to acquire some much needed toothpicks when we left.

What an absolute gem! Vicky and Darryl were the perfect hosts, very friendly and helpful.  The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean, we slept so well. The food....every meal we had, from the full English breakfasts to the home cooked evening meals were delighful.  The locals were very welcoming and we can't wait to go back.

An absolute gem!

Just a fantastic break from start to finish. Vicky and Darryl were wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Our room which was pet friendly was luxurious and impeccably clean with the biggest bed I’ve ever seen. Breakfast was delicious and vegetarians are catered for at breakfast and if you eat during the day. The dogs were treated as well as the humans and they are with us in the bar. The surroundings are beautiful with Buxton one way and Ashbourne the other with lots of things to do. We will definitely be coming back soon!

Perfect long weekend

Lovely cosy inn with great views over the Dales. Comfortable clean room, food quality and service excellent. Fabulous breakfast loved the locally sourced bacon.Although situated on the A615 rooms well sound proofed you wouldn’t know it was there! Same applies to the dining room and bar.Spacious garden to sit out in and lose yourself with the view.Great hosts wouldn’t hesitate staying again!
