The Bushel staff were so friendly and helpful and allowed us a slightly earlier check-in to attend my daughter's wedding.The location of the hotel was perfect in the centre of Bury St Edmunds with the addition of free parking.The breakfast was good and the portions excellent. We had drinks at the bar & all the staff we dealt with were great.Thank you for providing a very comfortable stay in Bury St Edmunds.

The staff here were lovely, the room was comfortable with an excellent shower. Some noise from the pub below as you would expect on a Saturday night but didn't bother us. The cooked breakfast excellent, the continental was a little limited

The property is in a great location. The room a good size with lovely original features. Bed comfy. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Hotel was friendly and check in was easy. The rooms were a good size. Beds were comfy and the shower was excellent. The room was very warm indeed, there was a fan provided which did help.

I have truly enjoyed my experience at the bushel. Josh, Peter, Dawn and other employees went above and beyond their duties. Our 4 days at the Bushel felt like a home and we are actually sad to leave everyone. But it was not a goodbye because we will definitely be coming back and seeing everyone again. This was the best experience we’ve ever had being away from home. We love you guys.

Lovely place to stay. Very convenient for Busy Dt Edmunds town, walkable for all centre of town activities. All staff were very lovely. Rooms were clean and tidy. Bed comfortable.

We had a lovely stay at the Bushel for a weekend in Bury St Edmunds. Free parking, friendly staff and a great breakfast! Lots of character and charm in this 17 century coaching inn and still a buzzing pub until closing time.

Friendly helpfull staff. Comfortable  & clean in need of a bit of TLC .  Shower looked good but didn't use it...  my fault as I was put off by large window in bathroom which had a  net curtain,  I didn't notice till too late the blind! Very good location for town, cathedral/gardens & Apex. Got car in their car park which is small  not sure where you would park if no spaces.

Great location

Property was fine, though very warm weather and partly opening window meant room was very hot at night. Fan/heater was available but, when used solely as a fan, was ineffectual. Bury St. Edmunds itself was a lovely place to visit. Friendly people, walkable, excellent pubs and food options, great market, decent shopping. Will definitely visit again.

Hands down best place ever.

Our stay was just for 3 days.  The staff were very friendly and helpful.  Our room was nice and clean with a lovely comfortable bed and a great walk in shower.  The food was very good so we ate in on two nights.  Generally the hotel was in need of refurbishment but this did not detract from our enjoyment.

Our road trip to Bury St Edmunds

I visited the Bushel today as I was looking for somewhere I could do a little work and have a drink and snack.
I was immediately greeted by a very friendly team member or perhaps the manager. He certainly came across as a manager. I think his name was Josh, he was American.
I can’t remember the last time I had such friendly service. An amazing effort all round.
I teach and assess hospitality, I never really switch off.
If I had come to assess the pub or the team today, they would have received 100% . 
It makes me happy to see that some places still have staff that go that extra mile.

All in all our stay at The Bushel was very good. We only stayed for one night, which was very comfortable. The only thing i picked up on was a minor house keeping point. Someone has cleaned a cup out in the bathroom and shaken the water out. this had left dark water spots on the wall in front of the sink. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order, and was very nice. Interaction with all the staff was very pleasant, and friendly.Great little place for an overnight stay!

Comfortable, friendly, and good food.

Our room was a good size, clean and warm. The staff were all very friendly, especially Josh who explained where we would have breakfast and took our booking for evening meal. The food was good and the atmosphere in the bar was great. The location is excellent, only a few minutes walk to the town centre and restaurants.

Warm, friendly and great atmosphere

Lovely New Year’s Day lunch with friends and family. It’s a lovely classic pub but warm and welcoming with a modern vibe too. The menu was lovely and catered for children. We were a noisy group with little ones and the staff were lovely and understanding. Great way to start the new year and we’ll be back again.

Lovely family friendly local pub

The friendliness  of the staff at reception upon arrival and in particular full kudos to Lizzy  whom not only met us but also served us for the evening meal as well as Breakfast the next day. She is a great asset to the Pub and Hotel facilities.The Bushel is situated in easy walking distance to the Centre of Bury St Edmunds, and the parking is easy to get too.
