A very comfortable stay in this lovely guesthouse. Perfect location, the guesthouse was a great choice. We had everything we needed in our well appointed and beautifully clean room. Very comfy bed too.

We stayed here for 2 nights, and the service was outstanding, nothing was too much for Theresa, she was so caring, super knowledgeable about the area and very informative, a great host, the B and B was clean and tidy, and we felt at home. We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Bonny Brae, where we were welcomed by Teresa who is an excellent host, she offered us lots of advice about things to do in the local area. We stayed in room 5, which was very clean and well presented. A good choice of breakfast was offered and it kept us going for the day. We will return to Bonny Brae.

I have just sayed at the beautifully quaint Bonny Brae for two nights with friends, and had a lovely time.

The guesthouse is centrally located, minutes from the train station, and close to the bars, restaurants and shops of Windermere.

Teresa is a lovely lady and a great host, nothing was too much trouble, very knowledgeable about the Lake District and more than happy to share advice and recommendations to make your visit the best it can be.

The room was very well appointed, modern, comfortable, and clean, with free WiFi to upload all the pictures you will take.
The breakfast was delicious and really set you up for a day exploring and sightseeing.

Bowness is approximately a 20 minute walk away or for those that are less mobile there is a bus that goes from the train station that will take you to the cruisers at Bowness or to Ambleside and Grasmere, so you can get around very easily. 

We had a lovely stay at Bonny Brae, I would highly recommend it and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again in the future.

Host Teresa is friendly, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable about the Lake District so if you’re new to the LD make sure to run your plans by her for some invaluable advice and recommendations.

The house itself is spotless inside and beautifully quaint outside. The rooms we stayed in were modern and extremely clean. Breakfast was lovely and sets you up for the day. 

The immediate area has so many boutique shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes and also a well sized Co-Op and Sainsburys Local. You can literally walk around the immediate area shops in 5mins! 

The area is served by a bus that will take you to the ferry at Bowness or to Ambleside and Grasmere so you can get around very easily to access walks etc. We did a short walk down to Windemere lake on our arrival day and that was a lovely intro to the area.

WiFi was good at Bonny Brae but it wasn’t great on Saturday - probably too much internet traffic…who knows.

All in all we had a lovely stay and Bonny Brae and it is definitely on my list as a place to return to should I visit Windemere again (which I would love to do).

Spent 2 nights at the guest House. Food excellent, room excellent and Theresa was a fantastic host, was so helpful regarding places to eat and places to visit. Perfectly in the middle of where you need to stay Definitely stay again. Mandy and Gordon

The Bonny Brae Guest House is situated a few steps away from the town centre with a variety of pubs, restaurants and independent shops. It is a bit of a walk down to Lake Windermere and a long hill back up but there is a regular bus service just around the corner and a lot of the buses are open-topped.  The guest house itself is very comfortable and welcoming and the included breakfast has a variety of choices. We even had a four-poster bed.

Great place to stay, comfortable, lovely breakfast and a great host. Would have no hesitation in returning. It’s in a great location right in the centre of town but is still quiet. 
So friendly and full of helpful advice on things to do and places to visit. It really did feel like a home from home.
You are also given a parking permit for your stay so although there is no car park it really made no difference to our stay.

Stayed at the Bonny Brae for two nights, which is centrally located.  Teresa is a wonderful lady and host. Nothing was too much trouble.
Our room was beautiful, comfortable, and clean.   Breakfast was delicious.  I would highly recommend and looking forward to our next stay.

I would highly recommend this B&B. Theresa the owner was very welcoming and had good knowledge of the surrounding area and places to eat and drink. The room was very clean and comfortable, with extras in the room to make the stay even better. The breakfast was delicious, well cooked and well presented. There was a choice each day where you could pick and choose exactly what you wanted.

Lovely B&B

We stayed here for 3 nights. Teresa the owner is very accommodating, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely. The room was very nice. It’s right in the centre in Windermere. You can walk to Boweness in about 20 minutes. We took a boat ride to Ambleside. Return for 2 was £24.90. We stayed there for 2 hours. All around the scenery is some of the best I’ve seen. The drive to Coniston lake was stunning. Also another beautiful place. We had 3 hot sunny days. I will definitely return

Relaxing visit

We spent three nights here. The twin room was a good size, with a large bathroom and tv too. Everything we needed was provided and nothing was too much trouble. The owner is very helpful and friendly and will offer advice about the local areas such as pubs, restaurants, walks etc. Lovely room literally off the Main Street in Windermere, but quiet in the evenings too. Breakfast was excellent.
Would recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to book here again
