Had a very pleasant stay at Hotel 50. Mel was very accomodating and was greeted us on arrival and on departure. She was also very helpful in providing info of the local area. Very kindly provided a bottle of milk and bottles of water in the upstairs fridge.Breakfast offered but did not take up the option.Good location for Boscombe sea front and high street. 3/4 spaces for parking on front drive, had no issues getting a parking spot. Check in before 9pm, struggled a bit unlocking and locking the doors but Mel advised this was a common thing and was on hand to help.

Really friendly, considerate and welcoming hosts. Hotel is really clean and quiet too. Nice breakfast and the fresh raspberries were lovely -as was the post breakfast free homemade banana muffin! Hotel is not far from the beech. I would definitely stay there again - top stuff.

Lovely little hotel clean friendly. I think the chef is deaf though as the radio at 6am was a brisk awakening

Had a fantastic stay matt and Mel made us very welcome at there property breakfast was amazing room was lovely there was a fridge to use for milk and water and Mel made some lovely banana muffins nothing was to much trouble for them definitely use them again

Mel and Matt were great hosts! Very accommodating, great breakfasts, and overall attentive in regards to suggesting places to eat and things to do. Boscombe is nice and quiet, with a perfect beach away from the crowds. Will book again if back in town!

Travelled down from Suffolk for a three night stay and to sample the South coast.Matt and Mel were super friendly and helpful with local knowledge and places to eat and drink.Breakfast was plentiful and fresh which set us up well for the day.Defo recommend

Matt and Mel are fantastic hosts. The hotel was extremely clean and well-decorated. The linen was exceptional quality. The breakfast was one of the best We have ever had (and we have stayed at 5* hotels in the past). The quality of the ingredients was obvious and nothing was too much trouble for Matt and Mel. They knew all of our names and made our stay feel very welcoming. The location was very good as it was only a 10 minute walk to Boscombe pier and the free parking was a bonus. We will be staying here again when we next visit Bournemouth.

Great hospitality and incredible breakfasts

Thanks Matt and Mel - you deserve to do really well. Everything fine - welcome, room linen, and we even took accidentally a power converter and offered to send you the money and you said "don't worry about it". Lovely room. Excellent breakfast and again thanks for going out of your way to get us kippers one morning!!Central location for where we wanted to be for Southbourne, walk to the shops etc, and no trouble parking. Beautifully decorated hotel throughout. Family run, very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is not on main road 10 min walk from boscombe pier where there are a couple non franchise restaurants (recommend reef encounter!).  We left the car at the hotel and walked the entire weekend it's a beautiful walk about 30 min along the beach to Bournemouth center, the beach there is very busy so family's be want to stay nearer the hotel end where it's less crowded and you can let the kids go freely with less worry.  Breakfast in the morning was great, again they were very attentive without being intrusive checking we had enough coffee/toast etc with little rush to get us out and just to relax.

Hidden Gem of Luxury

Amazing home. Felt very welcoming at all times. Breakfast was very yummy.  Nice little touches such as fresh milk for the bedrooms rather than the packaged carton's.  The owners went out their way for us by collecting a lost coat that was left in a restaurant..big thank you for that.  I would definitely recommenend this lovely place.

Fabulous place and great weekend

delightful few days stay at Hotel 50, with great service from the owners and the staff. Hotel is beautifully restored and has a fresh, clean, modern appeal that balances well with the original  features of the building.  We were in Hengistbury Room and it was spacious, clean, well furnished, with a lovely touch of lit heart lights across the headboard on our arrival.  Plus ensuite and all the welcome additions, such as WiFi, TV, tea making facilities- real milk also available in a fridge on the landing too, for each room. Good choice at breakfast, and real consideration for vegetarian diets too. No distance from the more peaceful beach at Boscombe and great advice from proprietor Matt about trips out to Christchurch, Poole etc.  Would definitely recommend to others and if we find ourselves in that area again would definitely stay there.

well run and well situated hotel

Such a lovely, clean and comfortable place. Right from the friendly welcome by Matt through to the personal attention and friendly goodbye by both Mel and Matt, our stay was to write home about! Comfy room with all amenities and the breakfast!!! Cannot be beaten! Matt was always willing and able to give lots of advice re tourist sites, restaurants, etc. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the beach and Boscombe Pier with lots of restaurants and activities for young and old. No doubt we'd stay there again if we had the chance. Definitely the best choice we've made re accommodation, in a long while! Good luck Mel and Matt with your hotel.
