Stanshope Hall

Stanshope Hall, a delightful, peaceful place to stay. Georgina warmly welcomed us, showed us our spacious, comfy King room then set up a tray of tea along with delicious, homemade flapjacks and macaroons outside so we could admire the beautiful views in the autumn sun. She brought us a map and after our refreshments we took a scenic circular walk to Milldale and Ilam rock. Our room overlooked the well cared for garden, plenty of dahlias still in flower. A good selection of tea and coffee were in the room along with biscuits and tangerines which were replenished daily. Milk, water and sparkling water were in the communal fridge at no extra cost. Comfy bed and hot shower. Body wash and shampoo included. The delicious, hearty, cooked breakfast, several options, came with fruit juice, homemade granola, yoghurt, toast, local honey, homemade lemon curd, jams and marmalade. Excellent communication with Naomi and Georgina. Thanks also to Alison for help with booking and introducing me to Wi Fi calling. Can recommend The Coach and Horses at Fenny Bentley and The Grehound Inn at Warslow for dinner. Naomi was away during our stay but everything ran like clockwork thanks to Georgina and Alison.
