B&B Casa o sole mio

We were delayed on our journey from the UK so didn't arrive until after midnight. Renata, the owner, had waited up for us and welcomed us warmly. Stayed in the 2nd floor, 2 bed apartment which was spacious for 3 or 4 adults. The property is in a quiet street parallel to the road between Riehen and Basel. A quiet location. All rooms very clean, comfortable beds, interesting decor with lots of 'nik-naks' and eclectic mix of furniture. The kitchen/diner has a dining table and seats for 4 and everything you need is supplied. Breakfast was provided each morning at the time we asked for it. Juice, cereals, yoghurts, croissants and a selection of bread rolls with cold meats, cheese and preserves. An endless supply of marvellous coffee, or tea if required. All served in a comfortable breakfast room with large windows looking into the garden. Tram stop - pfaffelhof - was a couple of hundred metres away and was an easy trip into Basel centre in 10 minutes. Tram and bus travel into and around Basel are free, provided by the b&b as part of a local scheme. Parking is in the street is free and abundant, although you might not get a space right outside the property first off, but you will always have the chance to move your car as all the spaces free up during the daytime. Oh, we sussed the wi-fi :- on the door to the kitchen it gives you the name of the router and the password for access. If you search there is a repeater with the same name as the router, suffixed with a 'z'. same password. Logged into this and had strong signal and reasonably quick internet access thereafter, All in all a very comfortable, relaxed stay in and I would recommend it for couples, friends or families.
