I slept well and the room was clean, but that was it, the room had only one locker, the toothbrush was missing, and a chair replaced the second night table. There was no TV.

Could be better

Very friendly service. The dessert was delicious. The room was very rustic with uncomfortable, hard mattresses. Dad's breakfast was okay, but rather rudimentary. Price performance doesn't quite match.

Kindly Serve

After 5 hours of walking, the Hotel La Vue des Alpes was the perfect place to eat and stay, the food was excellent, the sleeping in the rustic room was excellent, and the breakfast exceeded expectations.

Hotel in the right place

You can see and feel a lot of passersby coming in and out of here. There's self-service all over the terrace and the noise level inside the restaurant is sometimes very high. At breakfast you feel like you're in a mass meal. The service is very friendly and speedy despite the high load.

I'm sure this hotel has had better times.

It was our first night on a two-day hike in the Jura, and so it was fine. Unfortunately, there was no bus connection to the hotel when the train arrived, the owner then drove us to the hotel for Fr. 20.

Beautiful view

We were walking the Jura Crest Trail and finishing the latest stage at La Vue des Alpes so it was sensible to stay at the hotel on the pass. This hotel seems to be aimed at enthusiasts of outdoor pursuits and in this respect, it met our needs perfectly. The staff were friendly and helpful. If you are walking the Trial, then I would recommend staying here.

Comfortable enough hotel positioned directly on the Jura Crest Trail

After a long day of hiking we decided to take the hotel back at the start of the hike. As my French is pretty limited I offered up English or German to communicate with the staff. “No, seulement francais” was the answer. We got a comfort room for two at 140 CHF. Whereas the room was clean (much appreciated) it was very basic. The shower hose leaked so much that there was more water coming out at the back then at the front. The beds had seen their best days long ago. 
As we had not eaten much during the day we decided to go to the restaurant. 
The food was ok (even though I was fooled by the fact that filet mignon in French actually refers to pork and not to beef), but the ambience in the restaurant was not very nice. One of the comments from another fellow TripAdvisor commentator described it quite well (no refurbishments made the last 30 years or so). 
I have to admit that I slept quite well because the room was quite cold, but the next negative experience came at breakfast when I wanted to get some muesli. I realize that we were some of the first guests after the Covid break, but still I did not expect the muesli to be held together by a web (assuming it was from a flour moth). Here my French skills definitely failed, but I showed the problem to the staff and I hope they did something about it. In any case, we checked out pretty quick after that never to return. 
I am really sad because of this experience. I do want to start staying at hotels now after the Corona break and support the hoteliers , but the least I expect is reasonable service and a basic room quality. Hotel La Vue des Alpes does not meet this requirement even though the view from the hotel is nice.

Not a good experience

This hotel has a large restaurant ideal for families, at the right price and in an exceptional location.A highlight is the rost-beaf.It also has a playroom for children and young people, a typical Swiss decoration, a rich fondue and a voice of every kind.Perfect for visits.Aceptan dogs colp anywhere in Neuchâtel.

A family restaurant.

The room was beautiful and wooded with a very beautiful view! on the other hand, the hotel is very poorly isolated. The music of the dance party (which apparently takes place every Saturday night) is very well heard, at night I even heard the snoring of the next room! I was alone in a room for 4 and this was the case for several guests. Are the beds often full? Otherwise I find it a pity to occupy so much space. With two beds, the room would be much more spacious. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The desserts are very good but the main dishes are heavy and very salty. The breakfast is right.

Correct

We rested here on our hike. We got room number two, very clean and comfortable, three beds, three windows. The view overlooks the Lake Newburgh and into the woods, but also the big parking lot. Despite a jazz concert in the restaurant in the evening, we slept well, thanks to the good sound control.
