Rooms were clean and food is really good!
The owner knows how to cook Italian food! 
We spent 3 wonderful days!
Its our best choice in Kandy!
We spent time visiting the city thanks to the good info the staff provided us!

Very friendly owner and wife. If you have the chance don't miss the home made dinner option. They prepare real home made food what they would eat normally. Large rooms were not too hot this time but warm blankets provided. If you ask they will have many ideas to spend your time around.

Definitely no 24 hour front desk. We spent two nights here. Shabby but reasonably clean. However our bathroom developed a leak the first night and water started running into the bedroom soaking our shoes.  We tried to contact a staff member but could not find anyone and no emergency contact telephone number available which would be very worrying in the event of a more serious problem. We complained about this in the morning and we were moved to another room. We told the owner there should be at least an emergency contact number. He basically shrugged this off and said 'this is Sri Lanka'. NOT our experience of numerous other places we have stayed in in this lovely country. He said he would arrange an emergency number to be displayed but needless to say non was available the next night. We told him we expected a reduction which he agreed to. When we came to pay the following morning and mentioned this we were met with a tirade of racist abuse from Kevin. We had been told he spent some time training in Italy -the Latin temperament must of rubbed off on him as we suffered much arm waving and unpleasant language. Quite comical in some ways but we did feel somewhat threatened and left his premises immediately.
Breakfast was OK first day but woefully inadequate the second morning. Presumably because we had complained.After asking we were grudgingly given a cup of coffee. 
Overall not a place you would recommend even to your worst enemy.
Best avoided.

Avoid

Part of my visit to the beautiful town of Kandy was to conduct ‘business’ with certain persons at this ‘establishment’ to warn them of the impropriety of profiting off of their son’s good name and the consequences of continuing to do so. The lake across the street is not that deep, but it is deep enough; unless they change the name or begin to share the profits to said son.
Travelers should be careful of when and where they stay or eat in Kandy ...

Family business 

If you are traveling to Kandy do yourself and your friends a favour DO NOT STAY HERE I live in SL and brought my sister and two friends here the nightmare began instantly service was 0 out of 10 it took them 1 hour to get a pot of boiling water ,the food was absolutely shocking  ,the rooms filthy, the staff not at all helpful and don't speak English well enough to correspond with foriengers let alone with our locals I saw a number of people walk away as their food and drink orders were either wrong ,cold,not right and late by at least an hour or more 
Bathroom filthy with no hot water and disastrous water flow from the showers in rooms we might as well held our heads under the tap that would have been better 
Please DO NOT stay here it's a s...hole

The people running it have no idea or conception of what a guest is and what they have to do to make it pleasurable 
The worst hotel I have ever stayed in in all my travels 
" S...hole"
