Shanthi Guest House

We stayed in the family room of Shanthi Guesthouse in the outskirts of Hikkaduwa for 5 nights. We really enjoyed the tranquil garden and the wildlife, but most of all the friendliness of the hosts! With two (huge) separate bedrooms and a nice, private outdoor seating area we had everything we'd ever wish for. The plus was being exactly 100 meters away from the great span of beach that the Narigama beach is. The actual guesthouse consists of 5 rooms in their own annex, with the owner and family living in their own house just next to it. A shared kitchen with refrigerator between the guests made us feel even more like home. We were greeted with kind and helpful faces, and we were helped beyond our needs whenever we had inquires from the owner himself. The kids loved to play around in the garden, and quickly made friends with the owner and his family, that kindly invited them into their home. The family also prepare dishes if you are too lazy (like us) to go out to eat or cook home. Excellent Sri Lankan food! And with a two day pre-order we were served a fried egg hopper for our last breakfast just to top off this wonderful stay at an adorable family in the most pristine of locations along the Sri Lankan coast. Will definitely be back!
