Very happy with my stay at Simla Inn, ideal place to relax, clean rooms, WiFi, AC, couldn't ask for more. Food is delicious, Kalkudah beach is second to none and Rexion and Angel are the nicest persons you will ever meet. Need a ride, sth to eat or drink, want to learn how to cook Sri Lankan meals, have your laudry done or rent a bike? Whatever you may wish, they ' ll care. Very warm and friendly atmosphere, absolutely enjoyed it. Transparent billing, and not even expensive. Recommendation.

Hi! Simla inn is a very good place to stay. The acommodation and the Food was excellelent!!  Also I felt home during my stay. I love the couple rexion and angel because they treated me like their family. The hospitality and kindness of the owner is incridibly amazing. Also the place is near the beach. They have bicycle for rent and tuktuk which is accissible for everyone. i recommend this place beacause i felt too much happiness during my stay. I will choose simla inn once i come back.👍👍👍👍👍👍. I stayed in Simla Inn as a young traveller in 1978, the very year it started. Surprised and happy to find that it's still in operation in 2018 and being managed by Rexion the son of the delightful owners Thomas and Victoria i met in '78. Stayed 5 nights in Feb 2018 and was well cared for by other members of the family Jacksen and his mum Ranjaneen.
Simla Inn has a great family atmosphere and they do their best to accommodate your needs. Food is home style and definitely freshly prepared from local ingredients - of course the fish is great. Rooms are comfortable with a refreshing shower and mosquito nets. 
There's a bicycle or a scooter available to run to the beach and a house tuk tuk if you need to go shopping or catch a bus/train. 
Kalkudah is one of my all time favourite places. It has survived some tough times through war and tsunami. It retains its sense of calm and hospitality. Simla Inn is a great place to relax and enjoy.

We booked an A/C double room which cost us Rs.3,000/= per day + 10% service charge. The room was neat and clean, with color coded floors and walls, TV and attached bathroom/toilet.

It is around 2kms from Pasikuda beach and if you are fit enough you can walk it or take an Auto for around Rs.100/- to Rs.150/-, and enjoy the sun and sand. The Kalkudah beach on the other side is somewhat isolated and hence we were advised not to visit there.

The owner's wife does the cooking and we enjoyed the sumptuous home-style cooking, and my husband gorged himself for two days on Lagoon-style crab curry which cost us Rs.1,900/-. Expensive but worth the money...so he said.

It was service with a smile all the way.

The business has a really great sense of history having been affected by both the war and the tsunami so its really nice to see it coming back. The downstairs rooms were good, the upstairs ones had a bit of a bug issue. Although they don't bite, we had developed bug slapping twitches from being massacred by mosquitos so often on our trip. The room rate was cheap but that most likely gets made up for in the offers for driving and food and drinks. Despite the negatives, I would be surprised if there was a better place in Passikudah and the owners were so friendly that its worth going just to see them.
