Las Brisas

Myself, my husband and my 3 children stayed at Las Brisas for a week from the 25th of september till the 2nd of October. We arrived in the evening around 9pm, so had to Call a number left on the reception door. The gentleman on the phone came right away and let us in, and after giving him the €100 deposit, he gave us the keys to apartment 8. The apartment was clean and well equipped. Although there wasn't a kettle or iron, you can rent each of these for a €10 deposit, which you get back in return at the end of the week. Reading previous reviews we were nervous that our children wouldn't be able to use the pool as they are not confident swimmers. But we bought them some armbands and they jumped straight in. The lifeguard was absolutely fine about this, and my children really enjoyed jumping in and out the pool whenever they wanted. The pool was a lovely temperature and we enjoyed many mornings around the pool. There were plenty of sun loungers for everyone too. The reception staff were friendly and the cleaners came everyday. They supplied fresh towels, sheets, and toilet rolls everyday. The apartments were always cleaned and rubbish bags taken away. Although if one day you didn't want it cleaned, the cleaners were fine about this too. The apartments were ideally situated with the shopping centre being right across the road. The beach was a 5 minute walk. The beach was beautiful. Although the water could be quite rough on some days,my children still enjoyed a paddle and jumping over the waves. The restaurants we tried were good. Little brasil served beautiful food and went out of there way to accommodate for my 30th birthday, putting balloons on the table and serving a special dessert while singing happy birthday. El Velero, which is situated along the beach front along with the strip of shops, was a beautiful restaurant too, and really good value for money. We booked a camel ride in the dunes of maspalomas. The camel ride cost €50 for all of us, and we caught a cab there and back which cost €6 euros each way. And what a great experience that was! We booked the camel ride on the Internet using the get your guide app, as we fou d that the people selling the excursions along the street would try and sell you the most expensive trips. The strip along the beach has so many shops and restaurants to choose from. All in all we had a great holiday here. The people Of Gran canaria are great with children. My children received a lollipop in every shop and Restaurant we went into! Las brisas apartments were a fantastic place to stay. The weather was fantastic with it being no lower than 29 degrees, and even reached 33 degrees one day! For the money we paid we got excellent value for money and had a beautiful stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
